Body vs. Flavor

Alright, I've been trying to figure this out on my own without having to ask, but I have not been successful, so I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the question for me: what is the difference between body and flavor? I see references to full bodied cigars and full flavored cigars, but I don't think they are the same thing because I also see references to a mild bodied cigar with full flavor, and various other variations on that theme. Any insight would be appreciated.

Flavor is how much you taste the cigar. How evident the flavors are on the palate. Body has more to do with strength and how much you feel the cigar. There are three major tasting areas: palate (mouth), nose, and finish (throat). You taste the flavor in all three areas but primarily pick up the body in your nose and finish.

Alex did a great job explaining it. I wish I could say so much in so few words, as some folks can.

but please dont confuse Power with body, flavor aside the amount of Kick you get from a cigar will vary as you smoke it, so start off light & let it build , take a sip of scotch or coffee, maybe both.enjoy the flavor & the body of the smoke , the Broad specrtum is importaint, I have enjoyed cigars since 1955 (but not every one I smoked ) right now my favorite anytime smoke would be a Camacho Liberty 05, but I enjoy a lot of cigars , Mambacho for the taste & Power, , Don Carlos #3 for a morning pick me up & a Bahia maduro for an anytime smoke , after all the years of cigar smoking I have seen a lot of my favorites come & go , but there is always a new cigar to try & one to toss out in front of a bus to crush because it isnt worth the bullet to shoot it !
Enjoy, Vince
