Hey all,
I'm planning a trip to Vegas with my gf before the end of the summer. We are in the early planning stages now. I've seen a bunch of posts of people telling of thier trips there. I as wondering if I could have some suggestions from the people who have been.

We are looking to stay on the strip so we don't have to rent a car but don't want to blow our whole trip fund on the hotel. We'll gamble a bit, but it's not the focus of the trip. Seeing some shows if deff part of our plan. I'm sure to be hitting up Casa Fuente.

That's about all I have out as of now. Any suggestions on places to stay, airlines, attractions, events, and/or things to avoid would be very helpful.

Thanks!!!

You can get a hotel for very low prices on the strip. They just want to get you there in hopes of making the real money of the gambling. There are a ton of air/hotel package deals that will not hurt the budget. You don't have to stay in one of the huge casinos to be right on the strip, there are some smaller/older casinos that cost much less. Keep in mind you will not spend much time in your room or at the casino you are staying at because there is so much to see and do and the city never slows down. I have stayed at the Imperior Palace and it is right in the middle of the strip and not bad for the deals they often run. Aug and Jan. are the two slowest months in Vegas and you can usually find the best deals around those times. Stay on a weekday if you can because rates are lower. Also if you look ahead and make sure there are no major conventions going on when you are wanting to go that helps because the hotels know when they are coming and usually jack up the rates. Shop around because everyone is trying to get you to stay at their casino. Good luck, its a great place to vacation.

If you can deal with the sales pitch, maybe look at the Jocky Club. It's right next to the Bellagio, and is a timeshare. I've stayed there once, and it's a great location!

MGM will get you a good deal, good location, on the monorail proper.
Right on the corner with NY,Excalibur, Flamingo.

Yes, go to Casa Fuente and have a cigar and a whiskey sitting in the cafe. it's a great view! No cheap stiks, so be prepared. Whiskey will cost you $10.00.

Another one that I want to hit but haven't yet is the Ghost Bar on top of Sahara, awesome!

I was looking at the MGM. i found Hotels are not too different in price. Staying at the Belliago would only be a couple hundred more. Any thoughts on if it is worth it or not or any reviews of hotels you stayed in?

i've been to the ghost bar, but unless there is more than one, its on top of the palms, it is a pretty cool place

My wife and I have stayed at the Sahara Hotel a few times in the last 5 years. It's been much cheaper than the more main strip hotels, and now that it's connected to the monorail, it's easy to get there. They also have $1 blackjack for those who like the thrill but not the kill. The rooms are clean and the casino is fine--not as crowded and lots of cheaper table games than the fancier places.

I'm a fan of the Paris, great pool and hotel, plus there is an awesome cigar bar inside there
