The trouble with vacation

The trouble with vacation is that it ends. Duh..... I have just returned from 3 weeks at the lake and today was my first day back at work. I now have to go through the "I hate this darn job" part of the end of vacation. I slept late. I went fishing every day. I smoked many wonderful cigars and drank alot of beer. I ate sausage and bacon and eggs and pot pies and steaks and fruit and corned beef hash and coffee. I watched humming birds slurp the red stuff and blue jays and yellow breasted something-er-others eat the seeds I put out. I read 3 books. I got sun burned as I floated on the air mattress with my wife. I got bug bit. I spent 4 hours a day on my boat. Man, I had a great time. I hate the end of vacation. I hate work. I hate my commute. I love life and I love my wife. I love the dogs. I love those darn birds. I love the campfire and cooking outdoors. I love a great cigar but I hate a bad cigar. With my corned beef hash I smoked a cinco vegas "A" series, with my sausage I smoked a Rocky Patel sun grown. With my steak I smoked a pueblo dominicano. With my ale I smoked a rocky patel vintage 1992. With my pot pies I smoked a Gurkha double maduro. With my Knuskies bacon I smoked a R. Hansotia triple ligero. While fishing I smoked whatever I wanted. Yeppers I had a great time. I must admit that I missed reading all your posts and being a part of this forum. Sounds like you all had great adventures while I was away. I prayed for each and everyone of you each night and will continue as always. I caught alot of fish, many large mouth bass and even a few smallies. I kissed each one as I set them back in and watched em swim away free. I hope each and every one of you have the time to take a step off the merry-go-round of life this summer and enjoy life. The way this world is headed, we don't have much time. God Bless you all, Hope you are well.

Food,

Thanks for the post!!! :x Especially when I am on vacation next week. Now I am already not looking forward to coming back!!! :x

Seriously, sounded like you had a perfect time! Thanks for sharing it.

Awesome post. I just got back myself, but I was only gone 4 days. Now its back to the hot-as-hell firefighting........

Isn't it amazing how fast reality takes over when you get back from holidays??????

Great post brother, it is good to have you back. My 3 week Vacation officially starts Friday afternoon, cigar time here I come!!

Great post,

I am glad I love my job. What's not to like about working from home? Making your own schedule etc. I usually don't work about about 4 days a week. Total of about 25 hours.

I worked as Registered Nurse not to long ago. I quickly found out I had to take control of my life. Thankfully I have done that. However, I often joke and say everyday is vacation. I have not officially taken 3 weeks of vacation yet!

I might actually miss my business if I was gone that much. I appreciate your post and agree we must enjoy life... it way too short not to. I have pleasure in reading this forum daily and learning about this great hobby. Thanks for the part that you guys play in that!

Ya' know, Its really nice to see someone with such a positive outlook on life. . .I myself am an admirer of positive thinking.

You are so are so right about life being short. Just last week one of my good buddies died in his sleep. He had been under a lot of stress because his wife was ill. We talked alot about the loves of our lives and life in general. We spoke about cherishing the time you have with those you love.

The last words I said to him were "Have an awesome weekend buddy, see you on Monday". . .

. . .I think it would be fitting for everyone just to take a second and show some love to those you love.

just my .02

  AL

It's always a great thing to see such positive thoughts shared, reminds me of the cliche: life is what you make it, and it appears that food makes his into some pretty good times. Glad you enjoyed your time away and thank you for posting and sharing with the board.

Your cigar taste funny with basslips?
