For those of you who dont know, the new Ashton ESG shipped to retailers about a week ago after a 2 year launch delay. I finally got around to firing one up.
The cigar started out way out of balance with strong salty sweet notes on the palate and very little activity in the back of the palate. About 1/4 oif the way through the cigar, it finally started to round out into a blanced smoke with notes of sweet wood, cedar, and slight hints of coffee and light spices. The cigar was fuller flavored and medium to full bodied. For you ashton fans, this cigar does not taste and is not supposed to taste anything like a VSG. It has a unique flavor but still did not blow my sox completely off. With only 200 boxes produced for the first release, this will be a hard one to find until after the holidays most likely.
