Has anyone tried these?

From Cigar.com (Sampler Page)

You can't legally buy Cuban cigars anymore, but we found a loophole. These Pinars are rolled with 1958 pre embargo Cuban tobacco. This rare aged tobacco makes these cigars some of the hardest to find in the world. Each sampler includes 5 Pinar robustos packaged in a wood box with a certificate of authenticity and a premium double bladed cigar cutter.

Thanks for the input!

i havent tried them. but i hear that they are more hype than anything.
i could be wrong ...i often am.

here is my thought:
as tobacco ages (outside of a cigar) it gets more and more mild. Depending on when this was rolled the Cuban tobacco may be almost tasteless. If the entire cigar was pre-embargo tobacco and it was rolled back then as well, then it would be a different story.

again... i could be wrong.

I have never had one of these, but I know people who have. They were not impressed with the cigars after all the hype and the premium price tag.

I have had two. They were flat and un impressive.

Great. Thanks for the response! I'm glad I didn't just go out and buy a pack.

Thanks again,

Jason

i have seen other cigars claim that they have pre embargo tobacco. one of the more noteable is the Camacho liberty. How are those?

does anybody know of others? are any of those any good?

i have 2 of those liberty's from 2001 i think and didn't know that about them hmmmmmm :?

I really like the Liberty's...whatever the tobacco may be inside! I just take it for what it's worth

camachos website says that the liberty has part Pelo de Oro Cuban tobacco with a cameroon wrapper. The rest of the blend seems to be a secret.

I'm looking forward to that day when we might acutally see some genuine Q*ban tobacco with different wrappers like Cameroon.

I've had the '05 and 06 camacho libertys... They were great. A little pricey but worth it.
