I already thanked Kelvin privately but thought I should do so here as well.

I am fairly new to the cigar world and you guys have been a great help to me. I have learned allot and spent a bit of money on this new hobby that I have come to love and that I think is due to the guidance of you guys. A special thanks to Barcochris also for encouraging and guiding me to get starting in the pif. The relaxation I get from sitting and smoking a cigar is worth more then I can tell you. I wanted to thank all of you for letting me be a part of this group and welcoming me with both your knowledge and generosity. That said I just wanted to give Kelvin a big thank you for all he did to put the Christmas pass together and to everybody else for letting me be a part of it.

You are great bunch of people and I am thankful you have let me be a part of this great group.

Merry Christmas to all ..

Travis

You're welcome. That's what cigars are all about. They have nothing to do with the nicotine and not even so much to do with the flavors. More than anything its the enjoyment and the comraderie.

I'm grateful you decided to step in and contribute. So many posts seem to be drive-bys on the BB's, so to have somebody stop and stay is always welcome.

Merry Christmas to you too.

Your welcome, Travis - it's been a pleasure getting to know you and having you become part of the family. This is a unique forum and I am always amazed at the camaraderie that goes on here. The generosity I have received from this group never ceases to amaze me.

I echo your sentiments, Travis...

I am thankful you have let me be a part of this great group

now you are one of them too.

Travis,

It has been our pleasure to help you along the way. I am glad the you are enjoying the experience. The folks on this board are unbelievable, kind and generous. I hope you can continue to grow and experience more on this passion of ours.

Chris

P.S. the reason people are so "kind" is we were all there are someone (kelvin) talked us into this "hobby" and we bought like a bazillion cigars, and we just want to help another person down the road.

LOL

We're always glad to get another person into the addiction. But when you start looking for a second mortgage for the house to support your cigar needs, then we know we've taught you well.

One question......

WHO THE HELL LET KELVIN IN HERE ANYWAY????

It was built, and they have come.

Although for a number of very serious reasons, my own participation has been limited to drive-bys throughout the year, I am still observing and taking notice of the doings on these forums. I am not only grateful for the help as others who are more qualified in so many ways have stepped in to moderation duties, but it truly is wonderful to see the good will and fellowship that has evolved on these forums.

Travis' post, and the replies that have followed, are emblematic of the vision that was put forth when these forums were created, and the hopes of the proprietors at AmBack and Cigar.com.

These forums, and the quality therein, are held up by the participation and decency of the membership, and we are grateful for the stellar conduct that is displayed here on a daily basis. May the good will continue, and may The Lord bless you all during this holiday season, whatever your observances may or even may not be.

Thanks to Travis for his good words, and thanks to you all, for being who you are and doing what you do.

Travis; the others are too kind to point out a huge faux paus on your part. Wanting to help you avoid possible future embarassment I feel compelled to mention this social mistake.

New members to this board generally get the hint to send a "Hello, I'm new here" gift package to the board's resident welcoming member. (This honor rotates among members, but it currently rests with me.) If you will send me 6-12 sticks of medium-to-high dollar value all will be forgiven. Please PM me for my mailing address.

And officially; WELCOME!

I second everything Travis said. Since I joined here I have been made to feel welcome, given a bunch of great knowledge, had a good time in the PIF, F&G and Box pass and met some very kind people along the way. It's still amazing to me the generosity of some of the people here. It has definitely been a fun nine months here and I really look forward to the next year here. Thanks for having me.

To quote Travis:

The relaxation I get from sitting and smoking a cigar is worth more then I can tell you.

Amen brother, amen.

By the way BP, I don't think I ever paid you the six stick tribute, to make up I offer to send you six cigars that have been recently found under a pile of dirty laundry from about the time I joined here. It's only fitting to me that I send you cigars from the time period in which I joined this place. PM me and leave an address.

I sent everybody a box of Arturo Fuente Hemingway Work of Art Perfectos when I started here. You did not get yours?? To bad there all gone now.

Travis

Travis: That's cool dood. I'm not picky, a box of Opus will suffice.

Cloudy: Send them brother! (They will be good sticks for a future PIF to Maine.)

:D :D

BTW, these forums are the only ones I've found anywhere that welcome new smokers and new members with open arms and none of the arrogance or coldness of some other forums. (Aside from sending the "Hello I'm New" sticks to your truly, has anyone ever felt that they needed to "pay their dues" before being made welcome?)
