Well guys and gals, here it is. Way over budget and much later than I hoped, but done anyway. I still have one more picture to put up above the shelf, but I have to wait for that to get printed up. I also would like to put a leather club chair and ottoman in, but for now the lawn chair works.

I'm just going to put up some before and after pics, but if you want to see the whole process, there are more pics on the photobucket site in my signature. Just go to the smoking room link.

what a great job...I know you will have many hours of smoking enjoyment there. I hope there is computer hookup so we can hear from you in the chatroom.

Wow what a super great room. I bet every smoke feels just a little nit better in that room. What was the ventalation system you used to vent out the smoke?

Very impressive! Any chance you have room for a second chair? Be nice to have room for a friend on occasion.

Man, Im so jealous my wife would never go for that. Great job, and great pics on the wall

Dang Quag! That ROCKS!!!!! Very well done congrats brother!

If I had to guess I would say he made them.

Nice room guy. Now all you have to do is soundproof it so you cant be called away during a good smoke.

Very impressive. Looks like a lot of thought went into designing that room. Enjoy!

Very cool Justin. I like the vent covers. Did you make them? Is that spanish cedar on the drop ceiling panels?

what? no walk in humi?

HA! that is AWESOME

i have to admit... im a bit jealous.

Thanks for the comments guys. To answer your questions:

The room is pretty small actually--just under 50 square ft. I don't know how many people I could fit in but one kind of pushes it.

The frames are made out of spanish cedar. They are the same pictures I sent to Dejoro and Corojobrad, only bigger.

The ceiling is 1/4 birch plywood. I really should not have used them as they have warped and now don't lay flat. I never thought of using spanish cedar, but cost would probably prohibit it. I'll probably redo the ceiling at some point with 1/2 prefinished maple like I should have in the first place.

The ventilation system is a remote blower by Broan. Its a 200CFM, so it'll replace the air in that room in about 1.5 minutes. I originally had flexible ducting hooked up, but it cut the airflow too much. I replaced it with sheetmetal, and that improved it to the point that I was creating negative pressure. That's why there are two vent covers (readymade floor vents). The one in the ceiling is the intake for the fan, and the one in the wall is just to cover up a hole to allow more air to be drawn in to recreate neutral pressure.

You could always use Spanish cedar veneer over the panels. You would get the look and smell at a much cheaper price. If you want to stop the warping on the thin plywood you can take them down and put stiffeners on the back.
