Nashville, March 27, 2007: CAO, one of the world’s foremost premium cigar manufacturers, today announced the release of CAO Gold Maduro, an innovative hybrid of their highly rated CAO Gold brand.
Introduced in 1996, the CAO Gold line has received numerous ‘90’ ratings (“EXCELLENT”) from Cigar Aficionado magazine, widely heralded as the ultimate authority in the world of premium cigars. CAO Gold Maduro is an exciting new blend that combines a Brazilian Maduro wrapper with the binder and filler tobaccos of the CAO Gold line. The result is a medium-bodied cigar that exhibits a smooth and buttery character, top-noted by hints of spice and espresso beans. CAO Gold Maduro began as a blend from CAO’s ‘Concept Series’ of cigars, housed in the CAO “Escaparate” at the company’s headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee. The CAO “Escaparate” showcases over 400,000 cigars, all from prototype blends that are in various stages of development. “CAO Gold Maduro was one of our very first concept cigars,” explained President Tim Ozgener. “Over the past two years, we received such overwhelmingly positive feedback from guests of CAO who sampled the blend that we decided to bring Gold Maduro to the marketplace.”
Packaged in wooden boxes of 20 cigars, CAO Gold Maduro will be available in six shapes: Corona (5.5" x 42), Robusto (5" x 50), Corona Gorda (6.5" x 50), Churchill (7" x 48), Torpedo (6.25" 52), and Double Corona (7.5" x 54).

Sounds interesting - I always thought the Gold had a nice flavor but was too light, but I love the Brazillian - this could be a sweet combo!

I feel exactly the same as Cybrus. This could be a real nice cigar. Can't wait to try one. I used to shy away from the maduros but now they're my faves along with corojos.
