Thoughts on the God of Fire?

Just received an email from C.com that the God of Fire line is back in stock. Obviously the price isn't cheap but that doesn't mean it's not worth it? I searched for reviews but wasn't able to find anything specific although I did see them mentioned a few times. Are any of the 3 more highly thought of? I suppose a guy should buy 1 of each but considering a guy could get a box of 5 Vegas for about the same price I'm having a hard time justifying that. Especially after the spending spree I went on the past week.

Thanks,
Trent

Trent,
I would recommend you speak with Gordon (Bikeman). This is one of his favorite cigars. I have two coffins in my humidor but have yet to smoke one, so I can't really give you an honest opinion myself.

while these are still expensive, the price just came down and reduced by the maker. They are no longer in coffins which is why the price is better.

two.... That box of Robusto's by Don Carlos continues to call my name. I'm so weak willed I'm having a hard time resisting. I hate just having 1 or 2 of something because then when you really like it they are gone or your scared to smoke your last one.... I suppose I could change my shipping address to work and sneak it into the Fridgidor without the other half knowing....

i havent seen any reviews anywhere either.

however, if anyone wants to send me one for a review i will be glad to do it

I do have one in my humi, but i am saving that for my 5 year anniversery.

I dont have much experience with the high$$ fuente lineup but I have heard from more than one person that the god of fire is one of those "personnal favorites". Second only behind an anejo.

I say, if you have the means, buy a couple. the stock probably wont last long. I'd rather be buying now instead of Xmas time.

Thanks for the input all. I decided to get a box of the Don Carlos and amortize the cost over the 5 years or so I hope to make them last.

I like to start my day with a Don Carlos #3 , at one time I had a 2 year supply & never smoked one till they were at lest 2 years old, BUT that was a long time ago when I was making BIG $$$ , now that I am retired I have cut back a bit on the inventory , But the DC#3 is still my Favorite morning cigar

Trent, I just saw this, and thought I would drop you a line.

In my opinion the GOF is one of the finest premium smokes you can find, but I have never smoked one with less than a years age on it. I always buy one a year, and smoke the previous years purchase on my birthday - it is that special.

Welcome to the forum brother - it looks like you are in it full bore, and I don't think you will be dissapointed with any of the advice you get around here.

Now thats what I am talking about. You go for it brother!!

Buy them - you won't be disappointed

I know... I lurk A LOT more than I post, but I saw this thread and had to comment.

I've been lucky enough to smoke quite a few of the GOF over the last 2 years. They are hands down my personal favorite. I particularly like the Carlito 2004 churchill, but that's just taste. They are incredibly smooth from start to finish. so much so that I sometimes wish I had a roach clip (not that I know what that might be) so I could smoke it all the way down to the ash. If I had the $ I would smoke them almost exclusively.

They are worth the money.

Also - I live in Tulsa, but my brother-in-law lives in Minneapolis and they have an awesome cigar store there that usually always has the super premiums (including the GOF) in stock even when cigar.com doesn't. That's where I wind up getting mine. Here's a link if anyone cares. Tell them Rick Lester sent you. Maybe they'll cough up some freebies.
