At what point?

Nice lead-in huh? So anyway my question is this, at what point does your cigar experience become mundane? When I started a few years ago (oh my! quite a few) I was so excited to get a nice full stock and top equipment and tend to my fish.....Nothing has changed for me. I still can't walk by my humi's without checking in and making sure everything is perfect. I get twidderpated when I open the lid and decide what I am going to spend my next hour with. I rotate and quarentine and smell and inspect just like a kid in the candy store. The question comes to mind because my friend thinks I'm a nut case. He just smokes whatever, whenever, wherever. His favorite cigar is a FREE cigar. For him it's not about the wonderful experience, it's just like a habit. I dunno, I love the hobby part of this whole thing. I would hate to lose that......God Bless you all

I love the hobby part too, and after 11 years, it's different, more of a smooth, knowledgeable routine, but not mundane.

i check my humis daily... usually twice. I plan out what cigars im going to smoke. I look through my catalogs and try to decide what to buy next. I check all the one day deal sites i can. I check this (and other) forums at the bigining and at the end of the day.
its kind of like a routine but it isnt done because i just got in the habbit of doing it. It is done because i enjoy doing it. I enjoy learning more.

In this hobby i am constantly learning. Every time i learn more there is more to ask about. I dont know everything about cigars. This eagerness to learn more is why i keep up on it, not because i have nothing better to do or ecause i have been doing it for so long. Its a passion.

You are a lucky guy!

(Just kidding around!)

I always look at my cigars on a daily basis. Lately I have been thinking that these may be my last if the "powers that be" raise the taxes on them by $10 a stick.

First cigar was in 1955 , I still get wood when the UPS truck stops at the shop or the house ! hahaha
Enjoy, Vince
