My Executive lighter has gone heels up again. Don't really want to send it back for a third time. I am using good fuel. It just keeps plugging. RRRRggghhhhhh

you know...i have the same lighter...and it sucks...it doesn't light half the time, or it takes 182 clicks to get it to stay lit.

i have the same lighter and i LOVE it. it lights every time. I use Colibri tripple refined butane. never had a problem. :?

same stuff here. The problem I think is that Xikar did not design the executive. I have seen them with other generic names etc on them for $10. I know if you use super heap fuel, it will get clogged up, but the colibri is good stuff.

I haave the same lighter, use the canned air to clean it out. If you do that on a regular basis, you will never have a problem.

I have a couple of Executive lighters and have never had any problems with them. I use Vector fuel in them. It is supposedly refined 5 times. I had problems with Colibri fuel in another make of lighter and don't use it any more.

If it I were you I would send it back with a note saying that you would like it replaced with another model lighter since you have returned it a couple of times before and it still has problems.

I also have the executive. Whenever I have lighting problems (never ignites), I get a can of compressed air, depress the button to open the top without igniting, and then just blow out the burner assembly thoroughly. Works like a charm every time, and burns like new again.

My fuel is the colibri or triple refined butanes.

Yes blowing out the burner with some compressed air as well as bleeding it and refilling are the clear way to go. Xikar will warranty the lighter for a lifetime. You just send it back and they send you a new one.

On a side note, I slurged and bought the prometheus travel lighter. I will never own another lighter for the rest of my life. I had one issue with a plug and simply swaped out to a new fuel tank for $10.00 and the lighter was as good as new. It has also been convenient to have extra tanks in my pocket filled and ready when I go out at night. Beats lugging around a big can of fuel. Just my .02

Xikar is the only company with a true lifetime warranty.

Prometheus will fix your lighter if you pay them 20 bucks plus shipping to get it to them. This turns your 80 dollar lighter into a 100 dollar one. Then in 3 months when it dies again. You get to pay them another 20 bucks, and so on and so on until maybe the Dupont becomes cheap. You can tell I have issues with Mr. Park's product.

The only lighters that I have bought that have been reliable with minimal work on my part have been the XiKars. My B&M will replace it with a new one for either 5 or 10 dollars. I think it depends on which model it is.

The crack torch lighter I bought at Home Dept has been the best overall value. It was $8.50 with tax. That included a new bottle or fuel too. Kinda hard to take it out on the town though......unless your a crack addict.
