Ok here is a question I have been unable to find an answer to. What makes some cigars have such a thick white smoke and some such a light see through smoke? I am smoking a CAO Criollo right now and the smoke is almost a solid in the air it is very dense. What causes the difference?

ill try to BS my way through this.

much like different woods burn different because of how dense it is or the oil content, the tobacco is the same way.

you cant tell me that the tobacco in a connecticut shade will burn exactly the same as a heavy Liegero or honduran maduro.

...wow, i almost sounded like i knew what i was talking about.

i hope thats about right.

I just heard an interesting podcast about this same question, it is the size of the particulate in the smoke that determines how it will look. Larger particulate will be different colors, so it all relates to how the tobacco is burning.

There you go, I love ressurecting old threads.
