Almost resurrected and old thread on Bahia Blue, but thought it would be better to start anew.
Anyone comment of the bahia brand ?
The bahia gold maduro white label robusto is definitely tasty. I have the Trinidads, Blues, Icons, Insignias, Gold, Maduros and Gold Maduros in the humi, but as yet not smoked many of them. I went through a 20 pack of B-line CT and wasn't impressed at all. I've seen Vince comment of the Maduros, but not specifiy the size.

Bahia Maduro Torpedo is one of my GO TO smokes, I think that for the money there isn't a Better smoke in the world, , , when you discount the cost of the cigar & just judge it on taste & construction it is in my top 5 , but when you figure in the cost it is NUMBER 1 , right now I have an Insignia, toro sitting on top of the humidor 7 will get to it soon, , I am not crazy about the B line as I am a chewer of the cigars the mixed fillers just don't cut it , they taste great when smoking but I have that habit of holding the stick on the left side of my mouth jammed between my teeth, & getting soggy & falling apart, , so I stay away from the B line, ,,, the blu & trinadad are OK But the Maduro is my fav. the gold & gold maduro are fine smoke as are the Icons .
I still have a few of the orginal sticks from Costa Rica, & still in the orginal boxes,, the newer stuff from Nicaragua in bundles is just tops in my book.

I didn't particularly like the Icon, but the Gold White Label robusto was very good. I've got the Maduro torps and several others waiting in the humidors. Can't make a decision on the Insignia yet. Haven't picked up any Matanzas yet, anybody tried them ?

Smoking one of the little Bahia cigars with a cup of dark roast something I roasted up the other day...not bad, a bit too acidic...BUT I love these little cigars though!

Which little Bahia ? What was too acidic, the cigar or the coffee ?

My brother (always looking for a bargain) got a bundle of Bahia's a few months ago (I think there were about a-buck-a-stick). They had the palest looking wrapper I've ever seen on any cigar. I asked him if he'd smoked any, and how they were. He simply said "Quite possibly the worst cigar I've ever smoked". :( He smokes a lot of cheaper cigars, and I take his word on bargain-cigars as gospel.
So I've been VERY hesitant on trying anything in their line. Maybe I'm missing out on something good?

Sounds like the B-line, which is the bottom of the Bahia barrel. I've had a few different of their offerings and found some of them to be quite good. These are what I have or have had:

Bahia B-line Connecticut Bellicoso
Bahia Blue L600 toro
Bahia Blue E652 torpedo
Bahia Gold Maduro churchill
Bahia Gold Maduro robusto
Bahia Gold Maduro toro
Bahia Gold Robusto
Bahia Gold Toro
Bahia Gold White Label robusto
Bahia Gold White Label toro
Bahia Gold White Label torpedo
Bahia Icon No. II
Bahia Insignia 10th Anniversay Insignia toro
Bahia Maduro corona gigante
Bahia Maduro No 2 torpedo
Bahia Matanzas perfecto # 1
Bahia Matanzas perfecto # 2
Bahia Trinidad Pancho
Bahia Trinidad short churchill

The B-lines were cheap and not good. I didn't care for the Icon and the Insignia is one I'm still on the fence about. The rest that I have tried were good and the Matanzas, which I have yet to try, have been praised bu a couple of smokers. They are all very reasonable on an auction.

the B line is a cut filler sandwich cigar , , I did get a bundle a few years ago , not a BAD cigar , but not a good cigar Unless you used a tip or smoked it in a pipe, I got a lot of loose tobacco in my mouth as I have a habbit of chewing the ends of my cigars making it tuff to smoke the cheeper cut filler stuff, .... its funny but I didn't start to chew the ends until I started to smoke Premium cigars! , back in the day when I was smoking Marsh wheelings & the like , I didn't chew them, But the flavor of that first Fuente 858 was what got me to switch, & I am so glad I did , How ever the wallet is a LOT lighter today hahahaha

If I recall correctly Vince, you liked the Bahia Maduro torpedo. ?

I have not smoked Bahia before but here it's look like nice to smoke I would like to smoke this one sometimes in my garden.

I have a Bahia Icon ready to light up now

I didn't care that much for the Icon, what did you think of it Vince ?
Had a Trinidad Pancho Bahia yesterday.

I like the Icon & the Insignia but for my go to smoke for the price VS taste IMHO you cant beat the red band maduro , there are a lot of good cheep cigars in this world but that one is MY number one , I like the Entire line of Bahia cigars the Blue & the Trinadad are OK I like the white & the gold better & the gold maduro is wonderful BUT BUCK FOR BUCK the Maduro red is the king for me

They also have a three vitola line called Matanza which I hear are quite good. I have some resting, but my palate isn't right and I have yet to try one.
