Re: Sunday Morning Smoke

Vince, I know I've said it a lot, but keep on keepin' on. Another Classic Vintage Vinny The Ohhhhhh!!! Sunday Morning Smoke post.

I don't know where to start, so I'll just throw out a few observations, of how I am continually tickled to death, struck with the profundity of, and philosophically amused at Vince's posts.

(i) He'd have been anything from a serial killer to The President if he'd just been a better student;
(ii) The President and a serial killer are pretty much the same thing;
(iii) And last, but CERTAINLY not least, if he had killed his wife way back when, he'd have been out of prison by now.

AH, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA,
HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA,
HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA . . .

THUMP!!!

Re: Sunday Morning Smoke

Good morning it is Sunday 15 June 2008 , & a happy Fathers day to all you Fathers & want to be fathers out there & a few of the "strokers" who will never be fathers ,hahahah Well its A GREAT day here in da Burgh & I have had a great week, started off like we were going to set sales records for the week BUT mother nature stepped in , HOT HUMID & RAIN & then the A/C unit popped a cork & Bammmm all the gains were whipped to the curb in one phone call to the A/C repairman , dammmm I think they put time bombs in the unit to make sure they get a call back the next season on the account that they know we need tokeep the cigars under 75F with High Humidity , well the cooling unit & the drying unit just keep me busy pumpping moisture into the humidor & the low humidity A/C suking the water out of the air, dammmmm I wonder why some one hasnt invented a HIGH humidity a/c unit , , but I keep filling the humidors & loving every minute of it, taking care of the cigars is like rasing kids , BUT you dont feel bad when they go away , you smile & ring the cash regester, they make money not COST money like kids do & speaking of KIDs , dammmmm Mine are getting on my nervers the grandsons that is the daughter is a constent pain in my LOWER BACK SIDE , now the Boys are taking after there Mother, the Graduation party from 6th grade was a bit much & the dance review was all on the same day along with a few HS graduations I had to attend so I was a Bussy guy yesterday , Thank GOD the weather man cut us a break in the evening & the afternoon rain showeres went away .

it is a little late getting started this morning I was allowed to sleep in a bit before I had to cook breakfast for the boss, Yes even on Fathers day & my Birthday I still cook breakfast , Lunch & supper , that way I know what ever we have will be done right , she is a lot like the daughter , just not interested in cooking all that much but she can bake better than I do , as she is a Perfectionest & measures everything, ME well I am just to dammm lazy to measure anything, just toss it in , should be good hahahaha , one time my wife made a cheese omlet & shredded the cheese on the sacle to get 1.5 ounces of cheese, per person, ME I just toss in a handull & let it work it self out , I also make a mess as I go & she cleans up before she is finished , hey if the egg shells get inthe sink they can get jammed into the disposal later ! hahaha
well that is enough of the family & BTW we are grilling T Bones today, I should go fire up the grill NOW so hers is well done by 4 PM hahahaha , I go about 3.5 minuts per side myself I like my beef about 140/145 internal temp , a bit on the rare side , I want to see the whip marks from the jocky in the last race hahahaha
So here we are Fathers day 2008 , Thank GOD for hallmark cards & the "Holidays" invented for them , I was presented with a FINE selection of Cigars this morning , a nice assortment of GOD OF FIRE by Carleto, a few King B's a nice selection of Graycliffs & a few Prodomo Estate Tubed Coronas , & they are go with the Humidor I got last week a nice 100 count glass top box filled with a collection of cigars my wife picked out , getting them from the compitition . dammmm woman I am running a cigar shop & you but retail some place elese!!!???? , Oh well I guess its the thought that counts
I am working on a POT of Black silk by Foldgers this morning, there is a bag of Kona sitting right nest to it , but for some reason I wanted to try this in the morning with the eggs & dammmm it works just fine, SMOOOOOOTH and creamy , a nice soft finishe & thick on the pallet, even black with no sugar it has a slight sweetness to the brew , I am not big on pre ground coffees but thisa stuff is mighty good IMHO
it just after 11 AM & I have a lot to do today so its time to cut & paste this weeks adventure into the BURGH , awww $hit jost post the dammm thing the way it is to H3LL with spell check & fixing the grammer & puncuation
Enjoy, Vince

Re: Sunday Morning Smoke

So, you want an air conditioner that RAISES the humidity, ehhhhh, Vince? Here's what you do. You leave the A/C on, so it continues to pump cool air into the shop, but you open the door to the shop and the windows, if any, as well. The A/C won't be working any harder, because it'll be working at whatever setting you turn it to. The shop won't be as cool, but it will be cool enough, and the disgusting, strength sapping humidity from the 100 degree Northeastern summer day will come piling in to the store, and make your cigars VERY HAPPY!!!

An air conditioner that RAISES the humidity. Well, I never!!!

And if it took the past 731 years for kids to get on your nerves, well buddy, you're a MUCH BETTER MAN THAN I!!! Why do you think I don't have any?? Hee, hee, heee!!!

I am interested in your wife's use of 1.5 ounces of cheese for her omelettes. I only use an ounce per three egg omelette. As for chefs and bakers, yes, it takes a different touch because baking is a science, and while there is plenty of science in being a chef, it takes to having an abstract art touch applied, while baking is something that has to have strict formulas. Art is something you can put ON what you baked, while being something that can be directly applied to your cooking.

And last, but not least, as we all know by now, as he just stated yet again, Vince doesn't run his posts through the spell/grammar checker, so if you're trying to figure out what cigars he's talking about, . . .

FORGET IT!!!

HA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Re: Sunday Morning Smoke

there is a system that will do it , we had one at the post office, it just chilled the air & did nothing to the humidity, the guys in maintanence called it the chiller, a big water cooled unit that just pumped cool air in , didnt Dehumidify, so you ended up wet & cold ! , Now if we could just figure out How to keep the humidity at a reasonable level & take out the heat well we might have some thing , Not for home use as it isnt all that comfortable but it would be great in a smoke shop, if we had Unlimited funds I think we could make it work, BUT Not having the deep pockets of Bill Gates , I guess I will just keep filling up the humidors, regulating the temp by turning down the lights ( big Mistake to put halogen lights in the humidors) , Great in the winter, but in the summer, it SUCKS, I LOVE THIS JOB !!!!

Re: Sunday Morning Smoke

Good Morning , the FIRST Sunday of Summer ,22 June 2008 & a BEAUTYFULL day it is , I have had a Busy week, last Monday I was out of the shop & on the road hitting a few cigar shops in the Pittsburgh area , & getting my reservations for the RTDA show next month , yea I know they changed there name to IPTCXYZ or some other BS , But I still have the RTDA logo in the window so till I change it ( yea like I am going to make work for my self hahaha ) it will be the RTDA , this is my First time to Vegas , & I am going to room all by my self, NO wife with me, in LV , NO intention of putting any money in a slot machine or on any gaming table , hey they didnt BUILD that city on winners it is built on the money LOOSER leave in the town, so I will NOT be helping the gaming part of the town , HOW EVER the food & cigars will be on my list FOR SURE, & I might even have a weeee dram when I am there ! , yea like from the time I get on the plane here in Da Burgh till I get off the plane here in Da Burgh.
dammmm its almost 11AM & I havent had my morning cigar yet, , I must be slipping, BUT I did have a GREAT breakfast this morning, Crab Bennidict , I just took a little jumbo lump crab meat & made a few "Cakes" out of it , poached a few eggs , banged out a little holindays sauce & BINGO, Breakfast , Now the wife has a Bit of a mess to clean up & I have Nothing out of the freezer as we are going to her Brothers place today for the family gathering of his 5th grandchild , I think there just might be a few cigars smoked this afternoon & maybe a dip in the Creek , I used to swim there when I was a mear PUP , but the stream has gotten a little wider & slower since the last Iceage !
the Bird feeder is getting 'Spencive! I was getting 3 , 20 pound bags of seed for 11 Bucks , now the same seed is 24 bucks ! more than Doubled I asked the guy at the shop, he told me FUEL cost , BS more than double ! that SUCKS , dammm I have a 2000 sable with 165K & on my last fill up I got over 24 MPG , that was a lot of Highway driving & a little city driving , but in town I still get 20 MPG , & all I did to go from 16 MPG to over 20 was change the way I drive , I am not the first one away from the traffic lights & I keep my right foot OFF the gas as much as I can , driving the speed limit & slowing down just by removing the foot from the gas with out hitting the break & let the car slow down on its own , By the time you get to the light it has changed back to green !
I know the gas crunch has hurt CharBuck$ , a Venti whitechocolate Peppermint frapichinno was 505 lat night ( for the wife not me ) All I had was a Black coffee from gas station ,it was self serve & cost 85 cents , so one cup of coffee at charbucks was over 5 bucks & a gallon of gas was 3.99 , & beer is only 9 bucks for a case, looks like we will all be staying home 7 drinking BEER, recycle the cans & get enough money for a new case of beer !
Since we are going to my Brother in laws today I will be staying out of the kitchen the rest of the day, just coffee till we get there & when we get home , JUST COFFEE hahahaha , well maybe a little Irish Coffee . !!!!!
I have a lot to do today before we head out to the brother in laws place , like I need to get a Humidor ready to take filled with todays smokes for the entire family, since we will be outside all day I will take the hammock & get Comfortable asap !! , a box of cigars, a pot of coffee , I should be good for a few hours hahaha Enjoy, Vince

Re: Sunday Morning Smoke

Oh, no. Read that again, folks. The gyroscopic balance of the earth is definitely off, and Vince would know a thing or two about gyroscopes, being an ex-Navy Cook and all. Now, read it again, everyone.

Vince, . . .

is going to Las Vegas, ALONE, . . .

and is NOT going to fritter his money away by gambling.

Now, as we all know, there's no OTHER reason to go to Vegas, or any part of Nevada, unless you're looking to get irradiated. And remember, Vince is also an ex-Postal worker. I sure hope DHS is reading this.

BWAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHHHHHHH!!!

Nahhhhhhhhhhhhh, about the only thing that's going to happen with Vince being alone in Vegas and NOT gambling is that after he fritters away some time in his hotel room, drinking a couple fifths and smoking about twenty cigars, he's going to get bored and go out sleepwalking and looking for people to cook for. When the cops stop him crossing the Boulevard with his arms outstretched, he'll be saying, . . .

Fritters!!! Fritters!!! Must make fritters!!! Take me to your kitchen. As we all know, cops love to eat, and if a world class chef like Vince is going to make fritters for them, I'm sure they'll be happy to escort him to the local police kitchen. When they find out he needs at least a fifth of fine single malt while he's cooking, they may have to pick his pockets to buy a bottle. I don't know how much Las Vegas cops make, but I don't think they can afford a Macallan Fine Oak 21, like the bottle I just bought for a friend who has done me HUGE favors recently, particularly in the financial arena.

Hey, I didn't get 34g's back for LOSING my house, and NOT want to share the love, ha, haaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! And while the money has almost all gone to pay off personal, credit card and loan debts, as well as bring me current on monthly bills, some is left over to supplement my income as I begin to take over my father's life. A wee bit is also left over to take care of some of the kind folks around the internet cigar smoking community, who have bestowed their largesse upon me.

As for Vince, well, speaking of "kind," he's one of a kind, that's for sure. God said "enough is enough" when Vince popped out of his mom. But thank God for us he did, and by all means, please make it back safely from Vegas, and give those nice Vegas police officers extra fritters, and lots of syrup. Make them happy. Always helps. You want to curry favor with our Nation's Finest.

And as for the cost of a gallon of something, try keeping up with the price of a gallon of olive oil, or bourbon. By my calculations, if you go back to the year I graduated high school (1974), gas SHOULD COST AT LEAST FOUR BUCKS A GALLON BY NOW!!! See how much a pair of shoes or an apartment costs? Or a comic book, or newspaper, magazine? Heck, my communist oriented teachers in elementary school, along with radicals all over society, were telling us back in the 60's that we should have been paying three bucks a gallon at THAT time!!!

My current apartment about 1974 would have cost $125-150/mo. I'm paying $1,550 for a 470 square foot (not including the ONE closet or inner wall thickness, as the whole "footprint" is probably about 500 sq. ft.), and it's one of the CHEAPEST apartments of this type in a nice building on a nice block in this neighborhood!!!

God bless Vince, bring him home safe, God bless all the folks here at EOTAC. Have a good one.

Re: Sunday Morning Smoke

Good Morning , it is Sunday 29 June 2008, its Summer again, well after a full week of Summer rains we have a bit of a problem at the cigar shop, the basement has a few inches of water in it & with out a floor drain , we have a swimming pool, , dammmmm old building no floor drain , so its time to sweep & PUMP , Again, now if we could find out where its getting in ...... hahaha, from the top of the flat roof to the window wells the place is leaking, & the run off from the guy nextdoor isnt helping ...
enough of the troubles lets get to the Fun stuff ...............
this Past few weeks since school let out for the summer My Grandson has been going to a cooking class, at the local arts community building , he has brought home some fine stuff, a favorite of mine was the smoked salmon cream cheese topped with whitsfish roe & blanched leaves of basil, not bad for a 12 year old kid . when I was his age I was just doing short order cooking, burghers , eggs & other stuff you make to order he is planning meals & learning about set up & keeping things CLEAN . , hahaha I still havent learned that part hahaha
I have been getting more & more in to the Bouteque cigars , stuff you might have never saw before , some limited quanity big name special blends ... Don Gonzalez is a real stand out IMHO , & a hand rolled in Maimi called TOP cigar has been verry nice , the maduro in both lines are hitting my taste buds JUST RIGHT , !!!!

today is Community day in Monaca so I will be opening up the shop today for a few hours , maybe catch a few new people & serve a few regulars , I dont look for a big turn out , rain is in the forcast

I got my tickets for the BIG SHOW in Vegas , I will be flying out of the Burgh on Sunday the 13th & comming back on the 16th , what will the shop be like when I get back, or what will my wife do all week with me not at home to nag , dammmmm she might explode hahahaha

I have a nice set of T Bones in the fridge & some corn on the cob , they will meet the grill later today ......... ahhh yes summer , no more roast beast on Sundays , Now it's Grillin Time ... , I love Grilled veggies . Just to lazy to do them in the winter , I guess when you get old you step back from doing everything your self & start letting others do for you , I find the trasition a bit tuff right now , I want to do it but the body tells me to SIT DOWN & SHUT UP

the rasperrys are getting ticker this year , might have enough for a pie this year, if the birds 7 kids dont get to them before I do hahahaha , nothing better than Wild berrys, No chemicals ever used on them , & speaking of Wild plants , My rose bush is flurishing, a few years ago I tossed out a dozen roses after they had wilted, well I dumped them right behind my mulch pile of Grass clipping & forgot about them well some how they rooted them selves & I have this nice rose bush growing there , the wonders of nature !

we had out first fatality of the summer at the bird feeder , a BIG fat Grounhog , stopping by to get the seed off then ground under the feeder hot wacked by a passing car as he/she was crossing the road , SPLAT , dammmm spooky sound squish , POP & Thump

I hear the boss getting up so I better get breakfast going , dont know what i will be making , I will let her order from the menu , Give her what she wants & I might , I said MIGHT get what I want hahaha Enjoy, Vince

Re: Sunday Morning Smoke

Sorry to hear about that ground hog. I loved seeing them every spring when I had my house in Fishkill, foraging around my back yard, and then running back to the woods behind me through the hole in the fence whenever something disturbed them. So, a rose bush planted itself, huh? That's something cool.

And as for cleaning up, yes, let's hear it for teaching kids to clean up their own mess. Man, when I was in my late teens to early 20's, you had to let kids wreck the house and start WWIII. God forbid you throw in any discipline. All I ever heard from my contemporaries was . . .

"you can't treat them like they're in school all the time,";

"you can't hover over them all the time,";

"you can't treat them like they're in the military."

Well, 30 years later we have a nation out of control, and many of my contemporaries wonder why, and talk about discipline. Do any of them remember how they raised their own kids, or admonished others who just wanted to go check on the kids to see what they were doing? I love kids, when they belong to someone else and aren't coming over to mess up my place, while their parents sit by and go "how cute." Nooooo, it's not cute. Take them home and let them destroy yours instead.

Never mind what the cigar shop will look like when Vince gets back. I think Vegas will look worse, ha, ha, haaaaaaaa!!! Somebody better watch Vince, make sure HE cleans up his own mess, hee, hee, heee!!!

Sorry to hear about that flat roof and the neighbor's run off. You sure do take it well. Well, maybe if we were standing next to Vince knee deep in the shop's basement, he wouldn't be taking it so well. Always easier to laugh about something in the aftermath, but if Vince didn't take life well, he wouldn't be with us today, and thank God he is!!!

Come to think of it, that's a pretty complicated meal your grandson made, Vince. You sure they taught them stuff as simple as burgers? Ask him to broil a burger and he might draw a blank. Boeuf Bourgignon yes, burgers no, ha, haaaaaaa!!!

Re: Sunday Morning Smoke

he is OK with Burghers & ribs on the grill, he can make an omlet & its not bad, he gets it a little harder than I like it but he is having a little trouble flipping them without a spatula, so he cooks it a bit harder to make it wasy to flip... he will learn as time goes on ,
I just got back from the shop, Monaca had there community day today, , RAINED OUT, so I closed up the shop & am getting ready to grill a t-bone & some corn on the cob, I was all set to have some BBQ Brisquet & pulled pork but the BBQ guy didnt show up for Community day, , No big loss I had the T Bones defrosing all ready , I plan for the worst !

I brewed up a pot of kona at the shop , drank it all now I have a pot of Folgers Black silk brewing, you know for a commerical coffee its not bad, I did get to smoke a few cigars there a bahia Trinadad robusto & a black 601 robusto, I have a VSG double Corona all set for after the T Bone , a snifter of scotch & who knows what coffee I will have after we eat ! Enjoy, Vince

Re: Sunday Morning Smoke

Good Morning, it is Sunday the 6th of July , a hot & humid day here in Da Burgh , Finallllly, after weeks of Rain , But nothing like the poor souls in the Mississippi river area , , with all the farm land that has been flooded & all the citys divistated , why dont we see any riots & name calling & finger pointing lootings & the same stuff we saw in New Orleans ? is it the nature of the farmers to take care of there own & not want any help from the federal Government ?????? , I guess its just the way things are , I grew up in a suburban area now I live in a rural area, that is slowing getting developed into an Urban area , ( it SUCKS) , & I can see the difference in attitude of the City folks comming out to the country & find out they need to do things for them selves, Like CUT the grass , hey Dummie you got a house with a Yard now Not an appartment with A Building maintenence staff to change your light bulbs , I have been here over 30years now & its funny to see how self reliant I have become , I have a tool box , & a power drill, & a SHOVEL & RAKE , God Help me I dont use them Much But I have !!! , give me a good Knife & a stove I am fine, but me & a 2 x4 with hammer & nails are not a good mix, , however I can if needbe use them, but some of the city slickers moving out here for the "fresh " air will learn just like I did , when the farmer spread the manure on the fields the Fresh air is RIPE hahahahahaha
there is a wild growning Blackberry bush in one corner of my yard, I have been getting my fingers stained as I stand there & watch in amazement of Gods Glory & how that little seed I spit out 10 years ago or so has beveloped into a fruit bearing bush , complete with thorns to get you to stop eating before you eat them all , yea a few scratches 7 when the blood starts to drip onn the shoes , you know its time to stop hahahaha

I have pandora .com playing right now , dave brubeck , man this is great , since i found Pandora I havent tirned on the TV at work , just crank up the Jazz on Pandora & relax with a fine OLD Cigar & a well aged single malt with a pot of Fresh ground coffee & tell the customers to wait till the song is over before I move hahahaha

I have a NICE set of Porterhouse steaks sitting in a light marinade & some Yams that will hit the grill some time this afternoon , I will Qtr. the spuds , give them a light coat of EVOO & drop them on the grill about the same time I put the piece of beef on for my wife , when hers is almost creamated then I will put mine on , threaten it with a little heat , get some nice grill marks on it to show me where to Cut hahaha, thats about all it will need !
Coffee this morning is a Mexican coffee of some sorts, my wife picked it up at the new coffee roaster in New Brighton Pa , the place is called hallowedgrounds , they are turning out some great stuff so far , we are working our way through the menu of several different styles & roasts of a lot of different blends & single coffees , you can call them at 724-581-JAVA ( a shameless plug ) , tell them I recomended them to you & dont worry they know who I am for Sure hahaha

#2 grandson had a tooth pulled this past week, his braces came off & he is just using a retainer at night now , , to many teeth on one side of his mouth & not enough on the other , so Now when he smiles you see teeth not braces , he said it feels funny ............... yea I guess so !! #1 gradson is finishing up his cooking class at the Sweetwater arts & has had a crash course on Caviar , salmon, & cream cheese , now he want to add caviar to everything , well slow down cowboy this stuff is 'SPENCIVE , I am going to show him the food bill & hope he understands you just dont have caviar 3 times a week let alone 3 times a day , 3 times a year can break the bank !

I am having a rabbit problem.... I have this round cement decotative "stone" beside the walkway, its been there a year , never had any problems with is till now, it is set in sand , & for a year the birds, chipmunks & rabbits just ran over & arround it, Now the Dumb Bunnys are digging up the sand & laying there , I gues its cooler , or maybe warmer, , it is all out in the open so I dont think they are trying to nest , but I added a bottle of RED PEPPER flakes to the sand, , same thing all over again, sand tossed every where , for a year it looked like a fine Japeneese sand garden , now it looks like a kids sand box !!! , anyone have any ideas how to get rid of the rabbits , with out cooking them hahahaha ????

I was out doing a cigar tasting yesterday in a mall shop , I have never seen so many people come in a cigar shop who were not smokers, I offer a cigar , they say No thanks I dont smoke I was just looking at the shop, , in the 4 hours I was there I must have had 20 people say NO to a FREE cigar , they had to smoke it there , as the mall was NON smoking but the shop had a smoking lounge , so inside the shop was OK but not OUTSIDE ........ , I dont understand that, you go to the mall to shop & if you dont smoke cigars why would you come in a cigar shop to "LOOK" & COMPLAIN about the AROMA , stupid jack@$$e$ , it says CIGAR SHOP on the door what do you think was being sold there & smoked there , a BIG cloud of smoke Billowing up from 8 or 10 Cigar smokers & you come in & Bitch about the AROMA , GIVE ME A GUN !!!!!

There will NOT be a POSTING next Sunday Morning , I am heading for vegas & the RTDA show , Next Sunday Morning , I knows they changed the name from RTDA to some othe BS , but RTDA is what I remember , I dont know if I will get one posted saturday Night or not, so you will need to put you collictive minds on Hold or get a life hahahaha

Hey i am looking out he window at the pasture & this DUMB cow has her back to the electric fence & swishing her tail back & forth Hitting he frece, getting a small shock as I can see the spark & the mussel contract on the hind Qtr,& she isnt moving away from the fence, , hummmm mabe she likes it ! , I sire am going to miss the pasture when the old guy dies & his kids sellit for home development , if I had the cash I would buy it my self & keep it cow pasture , rent it out to some one who wanted to raise beef & not Kids , I dont want to get into raising beef now way to old for all that hard work !!!
speaking of OLD this past Friday was the BIRTHDAY OF THE USA , I had the TV on a little & caught a little of the Musical 1776 , dammm I miss drinking with my Buddys Ben & Tom hahahaha , but back then it was mostly Rum , Beer & wine, the drink of the day was Tea, & dont get me wrong , I like a cup of tea here & there BUT I AM A COFFEE person , with a little Single malt on the side , they just pair up a lot better than Tea with anything , Rum & bourbon are to sweet for my taste buds & since i never use sugar in my coffee or tea ,,, scotch is My dram of choice
all most noon time for me to get my formerly fat @$$ in gear & get going , Enjoy the next 2 weeks I will try to post next saturday but I cant be sure , SEE YOU IN VEGAS

Enjoy, Vince

Re: Sunday Morning Smoke

Yeah, baby!!! Now my day is off to the right start. Yup, I know what you mean about changes, Vince. During the seven years I was in Fishkill, it went from semi-rural suburbia to what I called the City of Beakeepsie. Fishkill WAS a small town in the middle of the strip from Beacon to Poughkeepsie, as well as all those small towns around there, but now that whole stretch is what I call the City of Beakeepsie, and Fishkill might as well be a borough, like we have in NYC. And yes, it DOES SUCK!!!

I often think of you and the changes you've described, and about that cow pasture in back of you. And I know you've talked of the day when that will no longer be a farm, and you'll be staring at a development of 50-100 8-12 bedroom, 3-6 bathroom, 2-4 car garage homes. Sad, when you consider that over half of those homes will never be occupied, and the other half will never really have people that want to live there for 20-30 years, make it a real "home." They'll be weekend properties, or summer homes, or "investment properties" for foreign interests, like the many Europeans who are buying up such things. They use them when they're in town on business, and rent them out the rest of the time.

Vince, we'll miss ya next week, but we will try to keep the fires burning, and it's too bad you have to put up with such dopes coming in to your shop. Have a great time in Vegas, be safe, and by all means, buy that grandson a calculator, and teach him about the price of food. That kid's culinary aspirations are gettin' too big for his grandpaw's wallet, ha, haaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Oh, and I think that cow probably read up on Electronic Muscle Stimulation in some Chiropractic journal. Probably has a hip flexor or lower back problem it's trying to work out, hee, hee, heee!!!

LIVE from the Burgh , its Saturday Night .......
Off the the RTDA show in the morning so here is the weeks BS from da burgh, Busy is all I can say , i was out selling on Monday, worked the shop on Tuesday, back out for a tasting at Cordys cigar box in Girard Ohio on Wed, back in the shop on Thursday & friday night I was there till 10:55 , was trying to stay till 11PM but no one there from about 10:35 so I packed it up . , so today i slept in a bit , went to the store to stock up on Grocerys for the Boss while I am out in LV, dammmm I hate to leave her home hahahahaha , yea why take a sandwich to a FEAST !, anyway she hates to fly .
The Political world of Penna, was turned upside down as a few former & current state legeslature's were Indited on Corruption charges , BIG photos on the front page of the paper with them in handcuffs , YEA Baby , when you sleep with the dogs you get flees ! one guy had 58 counts against him with a possable 300 years in Jail, looks like he will plead his case, get 8 years & pay back about 10% of the public money he stole , to light a sentence if you ask me , Castration & public beatings isnt enough for them, , well you figure a guy making 65K a year as a member of the state house , ( not bad money) but when you see him at the taylor shop getting a few 3500/4500 dollar custom made suits , well then you know some one else is paying for them , I just didnt know it was ME & my fellow taxpayers!

Since I was out of town a few days last week i didnt get in the kitchen much, we did have a lot of Take out from the local Italian Bistro , seams like the anti pasta has been working overtime, LOTS of garlic , so dont get down wind of me hahaha, I feel sorry for the poor souls on the airplane ! , I wonder if I can get the 02 masks to drop hahahaha

My daugher & the boys stopped at the shop today , I was walking down the street to pick up the Pizza for tonight & they were heading home from the movies , just good timming ! I have no idea what they went to see, what ever it was they liked it ,, hey when your 10/12 , anytime you get out of the house to watch a movie is a good time .

I have a real delema do I take my travel mug with me or drink out of the cups they supply on the airplane, I have 2 carry ons , no checked bags , I need a third hand for the coffee cup & a FOURTH for the CIGAR ! , 4 hour flight , NO cigar for 4 Hours, .............................. & I have to come back ! , 8 hours total, what will happen to the industry if i stopped, catastrophic repercutions in the cigar world & the scotch distillerys , sure Hope I can DRINK on the plane ! , I havent flown since 82 , thats 1982 you smart
@$$e$, & NO I didnt fly with Orval or Wilber , But I did date thier sister hahaha

well its about time for me to think about packing & getting my cigars ready for the trip , filling all the water resavors in the 15 Humidors before I go , cause I know my wife will not do it when I'm gone ..... even if she knows I will be back !
Enjoy, Vince

Re: Sunday Morning Smoke

Hey, what is Vince doing here? I thought he was coming back to the forums NEXT Sunday. Alright, well, it's always great to hear from Vince, and look at what else we learned tonight!!! His wife will not tend the humidors. Harumph. Whatever happened to the women of 1783, right Vince, back when you were a lad? Hey, did George Washington really look that regal in person? Ha, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Vince, whenever you see a politician trying on a suit he can't afford, somehow, some way, he and his benefactors have ALWAYS prefigured the formula for making it come back to us. And speaking of corrupt politicians, it seems as though Da Burgh is no different from any other burg, they're ALL run by crooks that WE PUT IN THERE!!! BWAAAAAAAAAAHAHHAHAHHHHH!!!

That's why I love it when Bob Grant reminds his listeners that the state of the nation is EVERYBODY'S FAULT!!!

Speaking of faults, Vince will be near some fault lines, and it's a good thing he's only half the man he used to be, because if he had gone out to Vegas a few years ago, he may have caused The Big One just by arriving, ha, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Have a great night everyone, and don't forget to watch The Golden Gala from Rome on ESPN2 tonight at midnight, in the East.
