Another gift from a friend, in my humidors for about two or three months. I lit this very large cigar, about a 7x54, at 1645 hours. I knew it might be better off with a few more months of age, but I was looking for something different, with a name, since I've been smoking my precious few Cubans and a lot of no name Non-Cubans lately.

Like many light Connecticut shade wrapped Dominican cigars, this one had a flavor of lightly toasted white bread, basil and black pepper most of the way through. It drew perfectly, and burned quite well. Toward the end I began to taste more of that rich, sweet cream and heavy earth that I would have preferred. It was finished at 1832 hours, and packed a decent kick. Then again, smoke a grocery bag for 1 hour and 47 minutes, and it would probably have a kick.

Definitely a cigar with possibility, but I would age these for six months to a year before smoking them if I got hold of any more.

My wife got me on of the #2 torps (white lable) for valintines day along with a CD of romantic music, some Dove dark chocolates & a bottle of Fonseca Port , the cigar is now history, the port is about half full, there are some chocolates left & the CD has been playing for a long time & what ever else I got for V day is just a memorie but the memorie of the cigar tells me to get more of them !!! Enjoy, Vince

I dont know if it is over priced or not, my wife is not one to spend a lot on cigars, she lets me do that, so if she bought it, she got a deal or it was a sale, she hates to pay retail, we sell the Regular #2 @ $10.75( at B&B cigar in Rochester Pa.), the retail is 12 on that cigar if I remember right, we dont have any of the white lables in stock so I dont know where she got it, since she knows most of the sales people who come in the shop she might have got it Free, or made traded a little skin for it hahahaha, if that HE paid to much hahahahaha ! Enjoy, Vince

Saw this old post... and wanted to get my 2 cents in...

I tried these a while back. It was the Especial No.3. I absolutely loved this cigar! It was like $6.00 or so. The torpedo that I have now, in my humi, was like $9.00.

I loved the creaminess and richness of this cigar. It never sat in my humi. I brought it home from the cigar shop and had it that evening with a glass of Yellowtail Shiraz. They meshed perfectly. I truly enjoyed this cigar. One of my favorites, right now. I still need to smoke the torp. I have had several Esp#3's, but that's it.

I have only smoked one of these. It was a churchill and it was on the golf course. Honestly I didn't enjoy it at all. The construction was awful. I will definatley give it another shot in a little bit more of a calm environment. It smoked much like i played!

Putting this thread on resuscitation; I LOVE the Monte Whites. Price is a little steep, but the stick is wonderful.

Bloof or Cigarsmoka, have you had any more in the year since this original thread?

I enjoy these once in a while, but lately they get real bitter after about a 1/3 of the way.
