I made it through 8 batches last night, I roasted some Konna and some Caracolillo. The last one had tons of oil after roasting. I can't wait to try a pot of that. And the first person that PM's me their addy can try some to.

Guys, I still owe you the coffe. it is just the last couple weeks have not been the best. So I have not forgot and I will get it out

Same here. I will get it out when I can roast. Damn holiday sason. No time for roasting.

Hey Kev,
How was the last batch that I gave you? Please be honest. I do not have much feedback other than my wife asking why it doesn't taste like the french vanilla coffee from Dunkin Donuts.

Will be roasting tomorrow. First to post for one each of the following, I will send a sample of:

Organic Bolivian Cenaproc Fair Trade

Kauai Na La Au Lea

Sulawesi Roya Decaf

Webesmoked,

PM me your address. Any other risk takers out there?

This is kind of like making beer or chili. Never the same but nearly always good and definitely fun.

That's so cool to see all you folks getting in on this. Any tips/ideas for the Joe Citizen's out there, just lurking, about how much money you guys/gals are saving, how easy/hard is the prep/cleanup process, how it compares to what you can buy from retail establishments?

Not necessary to get into it on this thread, just posing some general thoughts. I've been watching this forum for a while, to see if "the bug" would bite, and it seems that's already begun. That means we've got a bunch of budding new "professors of coffee" out there, and I for one would love to see some of your experirences and educational thoughts passed along. Happy roasting!!! 8) :D

I was roasting away last night for some unsuspecting recipient on this forum. Just a couple of batches for sending out.

Chris,
I will get yours out hopefully next week. Very sorry for the delay.

Ugh!

Cybrus and Bobberific, PM me with addresses and I will send samples.

Sorry, I will have to cut off any other posters for these batches that I received when I bought my roaster. I do have some Columbian at home that I can roast later this week, though.

bloof I am about to roast right now, I will take some pics and do a step by step with cost and all. PM me your address.

Bildo - I'd love to see that breakdown too. According to my wife, I have too many hobbies. I could use that to justify why it makes sense to roast your own coffee!

Samples in the mail for Cybrus, Webesmoked, and Bobberific. Let me know what you think. I roasted each one with the Roaster Plus for about 12 minutes, so they should be a medium to dark roast.
