Just stopped down at the local roaster to pick up some beans. Decided to try some new ones. Picked up a half pound of both:

Venezuela Maracaibo (mild) - Venezuela
Grown high in the Andes Mountains, the fruity flavor is a choice of coffee connoisseurs.

Celebes Kalossi (medium) - Indonesia
A heavy body and low acidity. A rare coffee featuring a caramel-like, smooth flavor with hints of spice.

Hopefully they'll both be as good as they sound!

That Celebes Kalossi sounds very good. I am eager to hear your report back.

Had the Celebes last night - 32oz French press with 3 level scoops of whole beans coarse ground (the large side of the scoop that comes with Bodum presses).

Medium bodied is definitely a good way to describe it. I didn't pick up any of the spice that most descriptions have, but definitely a caramel/nutty taste. Very low acidity and a bit creamy/mouthy (hard to describe) - excellent combination.

I'm going to make another pot tonight to see if it is better with a bit more beans in the grinder.

I actually think it was better with three level scoops - a bit more made it fuller, but a bit of bitterness came through too.

Overall, very good though! I'd still have to lean towards the African coffees - Kenya AA and Zimbabwe AA are still on top of my list.

Venezuela Maracaibo - definitely a mild coffee. I made a full press pot and the first cup was definitely a bit on the weak side. The flavor was good, but too mild. The second cup was better (I think because it sat in the press pot for a half hour or so) - flavor was about the same, but it had a little more body.

Not a bad coffee, but probably wouldn't get it again.
