Thanks to CastleCrest, Bloof, Fernando, and others on this board, I have in my search for the perfect cup of Java ordered a roaster and will have a go at the dark side of the process. Having moved to the country the only way I can get to see if fresh roasted is "the best cup of coffee ever" is to dive into the pool. I enjoy learning new things (for an old dog) and have made my own bread from fresh ground by me wheat. Made my own wine (not good) made my own beer (not bad) but, a lot of trouble. So, one of these days the brown truck will roll up and I will have a go at the Quest. Regards

There is no doubt that this will be the finest coffee you have ever had.
If ever you need help - feel free to email me!!!

Which roaster did you get?
CC

Really wondering on what Roaster you purchased?
Also if you need a source for green beans?
All to glad to help out!

Just got back in CC, I ordered the new Hearthware IRoast. It comes with a small sampler of beans. I would be very interested in where to buy the green beans. Thanks

Thanks DJL, Sweet Maria's is who I ordered my roaster from. They do have a big supply of beans listed on the site. They claim to be a commercial roaster. Before I order any (except for 8 lb sampler with roaster) I will see what CC has to say. I think that he has this all figured out already. I read a bunch of reviews on epinions and on the equipment sites and the new and improved Hearthware I Roast looks good to explore the process with. It has a digital thermometer and a viewing window to see the color change. It also claims to be easy to clean. Regards

I have been using SM as well as:
http://www.coffeebeancorral.com/
I have a few other places I get some special beans from.
I am very curious about your roaster!
I have a fresh roast plus, but am looking for something bigger.
Just to much work when I need coffee for others.
The digital thermometer sounds interesting.
I'll check it out tomorrow and hope to hear how easy
you think it is to use.
OK, back to the ball game!

Pm recieved, Thank you CC. When my roaster gets here I'll know enough to be dangerous. That color/temperture chart made me understand the roasting process way better than anything I have read. I hope that I can see the bean color and temp like they claim. Thanks for all your help. Regards

Kaz, if you think the coffee roaster, wheat grinder & bread maker are big$$$, come over & smoke a few dozen Hand rolled cigars & drink some 18 year Old single malt scotch whisky with us some day, Booze about 65 bucks a bottle, , cigars average 7 bucks each., good thing I get them wholesale !
Enjoy, Vince

Vince, I like that program, I'm drinking MACALLAN which ain't to bad. If, I drink the Single Malt first all my cigars seem excellent! Regards
