Anyone tried these, My father picked up a box of these on vacation and gave me a few. I read that they are machine made but any other info would be great. I do not have a box code as my father knows very little about cuban cigars. He just found out that cuba still makes an RyJ. He did buy the entire box but left the box behind before transporting them. I only have a couple of bands as well for the same reason. I am excited though because I do not have alot of cubans and this gives me a few to let sit if I choose. Thanks in advace for any other info or experiences you guys have had.

They are on the "cheap" side. You are not going to get a lot of radical flavors out of them. I always find them to be "green" flavors. Grassy or Herby. Not a bad cigar for when you are not looking to pay attention. I will Look tonight in MRN but I am not sure if they are made anymore
Thanks Chris. They are still sold at one of the places we discussed in the past. I don't expect too much from what little I read, but I really appreciate my DAD getting them.

Wow, MRN says that the recommended aging on the Quintero Brevas is 15 yrs! And as Chris said, he describes them as grassy. The Cuban Cigar Website says that the current production (only 4) are all handmade with short filler. I assume this to be current? Chris, I may need correcting but MRN is 2002? At the time of the book, all handmades were discontinued and only machine-made were being produced. So I'm not sure which is right :?. Insight would be appreciated. I had considered some Brevas.

Castle if you are asking me for the box code my father did not bring the box back with him. He did want them getting confiscated so he removed the bands and left the orginal box behind. My father has very little knowledge about handmade cigars and did not know there was a box code. I'm just looking for general info.

Lost in translation
These are starting to make them again. They are hand made, but need a few years to rest. I had one from 2000 last tyear that was fabulous. I bought a few recently (2007) and realized that they need a good amount of time to rest.
