Hello everyone,
I am very new to cigars, but have enjoyed smoking a few with friends in the past. Well I have decided it's time to venture out and I placed an order with CI.
Some of my order came in today, but my humidor and some of the cigars I ordered haven't arrived yet hopefully they will be here in a couple of days.
My herf a dor did come so at least I can take a few with me for the time being.
I am looking forward to reading through the forum and learning as much as I can from people with experience.

oh man.. you really did it now!!!! it is a fun Journey to take finding out what you like.. Welcome to the forum!!!

Welcome and good luck! This is a great hobby - cigar enthusiasts seem to have a ton in common. Take a look through some of the old threads about storing cigars, cutting, lighting, etc. Things I learned here a long time ago I still use.

Thanks for the welcome.... there are some that I know I like, and even more that I know I want to try. I have been reading quite a bit trying to learn as much as possible about setting up my humidor, storing cigars, and different types...This should be quite the experience :)

Well what to you like? what is on the to try list? you know a lot of the cigars that I "liked" when I started I can even stand the smell of now. Best piece of advice is take it slow and enjoy!

So far I like the 5 Vegas Classic , Rocky Patel Connecticut, and Cuba Libre.
My list of cigars to try so far is.. Cusano 18, Nub (Connecticut and Habano),
Oliva Serie 'O' , Oliva Serie 'V' ,Montecristo Media Noche, CAO Lx2...I could go on but I better take this one step at a time ..slow and steady ..

Ok so from your list you tend to go to mild mild/medium bodied cigars correct? Pretty good list, my problem is they are all basically the same cigar. Not that it is bad at all but will not help you develop your pallet or find your go to cigar if there is such a thing. Maybe try to broaden your to try list. Throw a peppin in there, I personally would also highly recommend the gran habbano 5 if you are looking to try a nub they make it in a nubish size I think it was 5 x 60 but could be wrong. Also Padron are some of the best cigars out there.. fuente Hemingway line is great if I am in the mood for Dominican tobacco a short story never dissapoints. Perdomo is another maker that makes a good cigar, I know Kelvin enjoys the champagne just to mild for me..

Thanks for the input and suggestions, I will pick up some of the cigars you recommended so I can try a broader range. I appreciate your help and will let you know how this all goes for me.

OK so a couple of days ago I began setting up my humidor. I'm still trying to get it right , but it's getting there. I am re-calibrating my digital Hygrometer again so I can be positive it is showing the correct readings.
But on a better note... after cutting the grass last night I did sit down outside and smoke one of the Montecristo Media Noches that came in my order last week. I did enjoy it, and I am looking forward to trying some of the other cigars that I have gotten so far.

I appreciate the welcome you have all given me, this forum has been very informative for me to learn about my new hobby.

Problem with this forum is these guys are no good for your pocket book.. when I started I knew I would never need more then a 25ct humi... well then never more then two of them... welll never more then a 300... frigidor whats that?? now I need two of them WTF? screw it I am just getting a cabinet!!! you guys suck!!! so... be ready.. it WILL happen to you.. LOL

Well I started by getting a 100ct Humidor, hopefully this one will last me a while.
The problem I'm having is I see so many more cigars I want to try every time I look online! I'll get to them eventually.....I have nothing but time.

I think I started with a 25 count - now I have a cabinet and a 100 count desktop. Too many cigars out there. Time is good, gives you a chance to age some of these cigars.

oh lord here we go...
Cigarbid
cigarmonster
joecigar

List goes on and on!
