Hello all,

In Colorado here, Boulder area and recently my GF purchased me a Humidor with a decent starter pack for cigars. I've smoked cigars in the past and always wanted to get into them more just never really did, the time is now. I am looking for suggestions for some good flavored cigars. Not crazy expensive as I am a college student and cannot afford high-end stuff. I prefer Vanilla, even fruit flavors. Figure this is a good place to start. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

Not sure we can be of much help to you. As a general rule we tend to deride the smoking of flavored cigars. Tho I quit smoking cigarettes helped by flavored and non flavored cigars along with a pipe, I now find flavored cigars to be unacceptable for me. You are a more stringent budget that we are, so it may be OK for you now. Perhaps in the future you may happen upon the nirvana of premium cigars and enjoy the flavors they leave on one's palate
Flavored cigars have somewhat migrated into other cigars thru infusion. Infused cigars include the Acid brand line and Nitro (at Thompsons). We also have sweet tipped cigars and whiskey cigars. The strangest thing is that the most expensive cigar is infused with cognac and sells for over $ 500 per cigar.

I by no means am strictly flavored or nothing. I'd prefer a mild vanilla, but also love the aroma and taste of a solid full flavored. I just dont know where to start. Just trying to find what I like, half the time I smoked cigars in the past, was too wasted to know what I was smoking. I guess im mainly just looking for a relatively inexpensive starter pack to get the feel for what I like and don't.

Welcome to the forum.

I can't advise you on flavored or infused cigars because I don't smoke/like them. If you are on a budget, it's okay. You can find a lot of very good value cigars around or under the $5 mark. I sudjest looking at Perdomo. And if I remember correctly, you can find some Padron (regarded as one of the best brands) for about the same. Someone help me with the name. Pardon 2000s??? Go to an actual cigar shop and ask the salesperson. They will be happy to recommend good value cigars.

the Padron 2000 is a pretty good smoke and it's near the bottom of the brand line. I prefer the full flavored cigars, and if your palate can pick up the flavors there are a lot of good ones available for around $ 3. Some examples would be the Nubs, some of the PDRs, cult, CLE, Trinidad, Assylum and even a few of the Gurkhas.
