Or is a pipe a wonderfully mellowing experiance? I am truly enjoying my evening pipeful with my dogs, and a few brewskis.

Its not just you. I find that smoking one of my pipes in the evening reduces stress and allows me to collect my thoughts.
Not to mention how long one pipeful lasts, compared to the cigarettes I haven't smoked in 4 days now...

I've got to agree on this one as well. I've been unwinding every evening after work with a pipe ever since I picked one up a few weeks ago. It's a whole different world than cigars. Funny how I don't really care for the aromatic or flavored cigars, yet I think the aromatic pipe tobacco is great.

I just had a nice mellow pipe outdoors, and for grins and giggles, had a cigarette, too. I never paid attention to flavor before...tasted like I was smoking a dead tree branch. Yuck. Back to the pipe... 8)
