I just dropped a digi hygrometer in a sample pack of Dark Caramel from Cornell&Diehl....and its 83% in there....the only reason i did it is because it was smoking hot and wet...whats the best way to store pipe tobacco? is it 70% like cigars? Do you keep yours in a humidor loose? 65% beads in a small humi?

The short answer is "it depends who you ask". There are a lot of different takes on the RH%, but most people will tell you that storing it at 70% is a good route to go. The tobacco that I have in baggies goes into my humidor (there's room since I can't afford the cigars any more :( ) and I have a jar for my bulk supply (the stuff I usually smoke). Since you're kind of new to it and probably have a lot of small containers of different blends, I'd just keep them in your humidor if you can. When you find one that you'll smoke a lot, keep it in a larger jar if it comes bagged, else keep it in the tin.

This is a good website to find info on how to store pipe tobacco and related topics.
