A friend sent me a pouch, unopened, of Skandinavik Vanilla Cavendish, smells nice, but dry as a bone. I put in a little hydrating disk I recieved from SWilson80 when he got me into this great hobby, but I was wondering if there is something else I can do, or if it's just junk now.

I've had good results using Pierre Ferand but you could use water. Pour some on a dinner plate. The Cognac spreads out over the dinner plate because the alcohol has lower surface tension, water will probably bead up. Roll the cigar enough to get the wrapper wet and then store them in a tube. Check them in a week or so and repeat if necessary. Let them age a month to let osmosis spread the moisture through the entire cigar and enjoy. One advantage to using cognac is the alcohol inhibits mold.

Yes, pipe tobacco. :D Though cognac sounds interesting....

I just put it in a jar with a bit of damp paper towlels for a day or so. works everytime
