at the just-posted Sam's Fall Warehouse Sale catalog. Checked out only bourbon and rye. Horribly limited selection, prices nothing special, no ryes listed either.

:? :dunno: :duh: :? :dunno:

This is not the Sam's of years gone by. I don't know what's up, but it looks like I'm going to pass on this one. I can get the Hirsch 16 for almost $10 less at Binny's with Binny's regular price. Don't know what happened, but maybe Sam's has "gone mainstream" or competition has beat them down. I'm going to check that list again when I get home, but I think I'll be shopping elsewhere.

:? :? :?

I took another long look at home this evening, just to make sure that I hadn't missed anything, and I guess Sam's is either focusing their attention on other products, or I don't know what. I do know that they have lost a good bit of my business over the past year to Binny's, and they are bound to lose more. I guess if you're looking for special single malts and fine wines, they're still competitive, but if you're looking for bourbon and rye, Sam's is falling down on the job. Too bad, I used to look forward to these Warehouse Sales. They have two a year, the next one being around the Super Bowl. Hopefully, they'll have some real product in stock, otherwise, they'll just continue to lose my business.

And what's several hundred dollars a year in bourbon and rye sales down the drain to some dip in New York State?

Nothing, unless a few hundred people from around the country have had a similar experience.

You'd better take the weekend as bereavement time. I know how it is, losing a vendor. Shame. I feel your pain.

Oh, I'm not losing out, Sam's is. They need the bereavement time. I'm celebrating money that will be saved. By the way, Park Avenue Liquors has lost me for good as well. Stay tuned. I've been a little too distracted and stressed to post much that's humorous and adventurous lately, but that will begin to change tonight. Not that the distractions and stress are over, but relief may be on the way, and I've got some time to relax and unwind this weekend.
