Looking for wine suggestions

I'm looking for wine suggestions. My problem is that my wife likes something along the lines of syrup. You know, really sweet, ripple. Any suggestions for a decent wine that has some sweetness to it? Are there any?

FWIW, my preference for a sweet wine is usually a riesling or a muscato (or muscat). The riesling is light and sweet, but some have been syrupy. The best muscato I've found was a Texas wine, from Sister Creek Vineyards, though all the Muscatos were great. Needless to say, I kinda like sweet light wines myself.

I second a riesling. The grapes have nice residual sugar when fermented and a sweetness when poured. The german rieslings are the standard but you can find good California rieslings.

IMHO California Reislings tend to be more dry. Like a half Chardonay! German Reislings from the Mosel region are wonderful. Sweet, but not cloying. Spatlese and Auslese are sweeter versions. The grapes are ripened longer. Here is a very informative website: http://www.cellarnotes.net/germany.html

Since you are deep in the south all ready, check out the wines of North Carolina. There are several Wineries that make Scupernog wines that you and your wife just might enjoy. Dauphine is the first that comes to mind. Martin Vinyards also has some selections. There is a web page for N.C. wines that has links to a lot of the wineries.

Thanks for the ideas guys.

The scuppernong suggestion brings back memories of when I was a kid and my dad and granddad made it at home. Spent lots of days collecting scuppernongs and muscadines.
