Well, I finally was able to hook up with this. Maybe I was expecting something fantastic, it wasn't. It's sweet like I would expect from a wheated whiskey/bourbon, hints of vanilla, caramel, honey colored, very nice aroma. I first tried it "neat" I enjoyed it, next with very little ice, killed the flavor. Maybe if it was a higher proof than 90 it would have kept some of it's flavor or released more. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed it neat, but! for $41.99 + tax, there are alot better bourbons out there for less or the same that I would prefer instead. Booker's for instance or Russell's Reserve 105, and of course any Van Winkle.

Our inaugural post for the vaunted and long awaited first wheat whiskey in modern times!!!

Maybe they need time to develop the product. Any age statement on that bottle? Thanks for posting this. I was sort of waiting to hear from you before purchasing any. Now I think I'll wait until the price comes down, proof goes up, or they come out with a "very old wheat whiskey."

I thought that was the name of the most famous Ginger Ale in all the U.S. of A. Made, of course, in North Carolina, just North of the world famous Tourist Trap, "South of The Bordor". Now you tell me it is an overpriced, second rate Wheet Bourbon. AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

It's not wheat bourbon, it's wheat whiskey. The only thing that can be called bourbon is bourbon, which has to be at least 51% corn. This is 51% wheat, the first wheated whiskey, and it can be had for a couple dollars less than what Rick paid if you look hard enough, but it doesn't sound like it's worth it to me. I've been waiting to hear some reviews, and his is the first.

Bloof. They are price gouging this since it's new. The first liquor store I went to had it for $49.99 + tax. I thought I had a deal at $41.99 + tax.

Tom. What is the name of that ginger ale? I'll be in Jacksonville, FL. for the next couple of weeks. Is it available there? Somebody else told me about that ginger ale.

LeNell's in NYC (Red Hook, Brooklyn) has it for $39 plus tax. They recently had a launch party for it. That's probably about the lowest price that it's going to be offered for, at least early on.
