Went over to a friend's house and sipped a lovely glass of Balvenie PortWood. It was perfect with the PSD4 I was smoking.

That sounds fantastic Brenda!

I had quite a busy beverage day - several pots of coffee, one with a bit of Knob Creek mixed in. Had a glass of Bailey's - love that stuff! I'll finish the evening off with either a tumbler of scotch (Glenfarclas) or rum (Ron de Barrilito).

Had some of the new seven year old Sazerac Rye with my evening cigar. I'll probably be posting a review after one or two more tastings.

I don't drink much and I leave smoking things to others.

Last drink I had was Stoli mixed with Coca*. it's a nice mix with rather smooth flavor. then again I am on a budget

*Translation: Stolichya mixed with Coca-cola. .

I smoked a Rocky Patel 1990 courtesy of Doc-T along with some Vendage Merlot in the company of a good friend. Although the temperature outside was aroune 25 degrees, a good cigar, a good drink, and a good friend make the weather irrelevant and the whole evening utterly enjoyable. I really owe all you folks a great debt for convincing a shooting addict who stumbled upon you board of the bliss of a fine smoke.

Joe

Vodka and sprite - wife made it - I see a dram of scotch in the near future.

If the wind dies down, a cigar could be possible as well.

I did a blind tasting of some Bushmills whiskeys

Bushmills Single Malt 10 year- aged in Bourbon Oak. A strong, almost too hot, beverage. The liquid was a light golden color.
Bushmills Black Bush single malt married with a single grain whiskey. Aged in Sherry oak casks. Smooth, complex. Wonderful flavor.
Bushmills Blended Irish Whiskey-Smooth (easiest to drink,) creamy, nice long finish. I actually picked this one as my favorite. It's a good thing it's the cheapest

Awesome! I am a big fan of scotch and irish whisky. My favorite Irish whisky is Red Breast - a bit expensive, but exceptionally good.

Bushmills is definitely a good one, especially for the price.

Was this an organized tasting? Where was it?

A friend bought a sampler with three shooters. We both tested the Whiskey then, picked a fav and went out for a smoke*. She had a ERDM Choix Supreme and I smoked a Bolivar Royal Corona. The whiskey paired really well with the cigar. It was the first time I'd tried Irish Whiskey. I really love the peaty Scotch. I'm not so sure I'm gonna commit to a bottle of the Irish stuff. I'm just gonna have to test more.

*cigars sold separately

I am working on a dram of Connamorea single malt Irish whisky right now with a cup of peaberry coffee that I brewed thius morning , let it sit all day off the heat , Gooooooood stuff ! hahaha , enjoy, Vince

Hey it's St. Pat's!!!

I have to work tomorrow.

:? :(

Carduus,
On St. Patrick's day you are to be drinking a good Irish Malt. This means that you leave the Budwieser in the tap. thats just the way it goes especially if you have Irish blood in you.

Now what would a good Irishman be drinkin bud? awww saints preserve us, bud is a lite beer, now shoulnt you be drinken Guiness,Murphys or some other fine Porter & if the porter isnt to you liken maybe a real beer like Moosehead or Hineken , but bud is a chemical swill of what the Americans call beer, sure it is made with the same stuff but it sure isnt tasten the same as a real beer from the keg , you need to drink that stuff fresh before it gets to go bad on you , nawwww no Anhausher Bush products here , when they stop adding chemicals to make it faster then I will try tasting it again, water, malted barley, hops . yeast, & time ! thats all that should be in Beer !

Enjoy, Vince

Sunday and Monday; Piccini Chianti. Real cheap (11 buck for a magnum), but doesn;t taste cheap. It is a little dry on the palate as a good chianti should be, but opens up a little with some time out of the bottle. It drinks nice and slow, the bottle will last me a couple of days. Not bad for a cheap chianti. I find any good chianti will now cost at least 20 bucks for a 750 ml. I just do not enjoy it that much to justify the purchase. I will be killing the rest of the bottle tonight; my mom is coming over for diner and I'm gonna need it.

Even if they clean up the chemical thingy there, Vince, the problem with Swillweiser products and other Headache Inducing American Pisswaters is that they don't even use the right ingredients. They use RICE, to save money and who knows what else? Swillweiser and the like are just like the cigarette companies. They have the average Joe/Jane by the wallet and know they've got a good thing going. They're the BIGGEST thing in the beer business. They've had this stupid poster campaign for their OOOOH!!! WOOOWWWWW!!! WORLD LAGER!!!! for the past year and a half now in NYC. They have subway "theme cars" in NYC, where one theme is displayed throughout the car, on all ad posters. One is this campaign.

WOOOOWWWWWWWWWW!!! WORLD LAGER!!! Four Continents, Ten Master Brewers, and the same old putrid, Headache Inducing American Pisswater flavor, right??? I don't know, and I ain't tryin' it. I can't drink beer anymore, anyway.
