Okay, I have reached a critical point. I cannot find Young’s Oatmeal Stout in cans anywhere. A local place said I should try Samuel Smiths Oatmeal Stout. They said it was just like Young’s. Well it isn’t. Far from it in fact. So, I set out to find the “good stuff”. After a Google search, I find a company that carries all kinds of beer and ships them to your home. Hmmm…okay. I can deal with shipping charges so I called them. The guy on the other end of the phone said the stuff was no longer being imported into the US! Say it aint so! I went to the main website for Young’s and sent them an email asking if this was true. In the mean time, Has anyone out there come across Young’s Oatmeal Stout in cans at your local beer store?

I do alot of homebrewing, so I spend quite a bit of time in stores that specialize in hard to find brews. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you. I know what it's like finding a brew that you love and then not being able to get it anymore.

Have you tried bevmo? They claim to have it on the web and I think I saw it when I was there.

I'll check out the specialty shop next time I'm in. Sammy Smiths rules though.

Bigg Bosss Mann, you have to be kidding. Young's Oatmeal Stout SUCKS next to Samuel Smith's. Back in my "real" beer drinking days, I had quite a bit of both, but if SS is available, Young's is . . .

well, . . .

okay, Young's is for The Boss. :cheerschug: :help: :flush:

danon104 – thank you!

RenoF250 – I’ll call them today and see if they have the cans. Having tried both the bottled and canned versions, I prefer the cans.

Svartorm – thanks!

Bloofington – It’s not that there is anything wrong with the Samuel Smith’s. It’s just not the same as the Young’s and for me, I much prefer the taste of the Young’s. It is smoother with less of an after taste. Then again, I rarely drink beer so my critiquing of beer is definitely from a novice’s standpoint. Havana rum or cigars, now that is a different story  8)

to be honest , I havent had a beer in 3 years now, BUT back in the day I was a Murphys Whore , not to say I did suck downa few pints of Guiness in my time but I like the light chocolate aftertaste of the Murphys myself ! HIC UP !!

Great post, but how about resizing the picture so we don't have to scroll to read the posts! I prefer Guiness myself.
