Beer consumption by State

I'm aghast. Good post, Muerte, and very interesting. I'm going to leave this up for a while, because I truly am surprised at the results. You've got Nevada and South Dakota at No. 1 and No. 3, with New York State at No. 49?!?!?!?!!!!!??!

I have to leave this up for a while, and study it. And Alabama at No. 26? I thought all they did down there was make phamaceuticals, fish and drink beer!!!!!

When you look at it you can almost draw the conclusion that States with larger populations and bigger cities drink less beer. Maybe then, they drink more wine and hard liquor.

That seems to be true, and also the more populous states with larger cities probably take way more drugs, so they go right past the beer to the harder stuff. You can buy a few vials of crack from a stray dog in Long Island City within five minutes. I guess out in the distant suburbs or rural areas, it's probably easier to drive five minutes to get beer.

That's what I was thinking. Western Washington is full of microbrews both local and regional and there's a fair amount of drinking here, but I doubt we'd top a list unless it was beer AND vodka :)

Just curious Bloof, is there something about the link that makes it subject to being taken down? Not trying to be difficult just wondering.

Well, for those who are looking only at the title under my handle, I'm not really a Moderator any more. Some of you may have read of my recent life's troubles, and ongoing problems, mostly family related, although it has been everything from A to Z for the past seven years. I have never really been fond of having the title, as many may remember, and am not really a personage with a full or current knowledge of what is and is not proper and acceptable.

Speaking from the experience and knowledge that I do have, I would say it is okay to leave up, and I see nothing wrong with it. If however, a definitive answer is sought regarding that query, it should be directed to others.

On the personal side, I find it a fascinating study, and worth coming back to time and again.

I thought that I alone kept Nebraska in the top ten...

I guess I have work to do!

I can't see any problem with it.

All the best,
