the name of some new gun modeled after the "Title" bestowed on certain guys from "South Central", it's Old Grand Dad 114 proof bourbon!!! Finally, after many tastings, I think I've got it pegged.

Mostly maple syrup and alfalfa. Yes, alfalfa, and no, not the guy from Spanky and Our Gang. Do they use alfalfa in the small grain part of the mash bill? I don't know, but the label indicates that the small grain part of their mash bill is what makes it special. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, . . .

Toward the last few sips, that classic, spicy oak flavor kicks in nicely, balancing the maple syrup, and cutting some of the alfalfa, providing a smooth tasting experience.

I'm putting this in the No. 22 spot, and dropping Eagle Rare 10 year old single barrel 90 proof to No. 23. This means that a college football ratings-like Top 25 of Bloofingtonian favorites in the bourbon world is soon to be published. Watch for more features as I delve ever more deeply into The Wonderful World Of Rye.

A Top 25 of bourbon favorites. Who'da thunk it? And Maker's Mark isn't even in the running!!!

Only in America.
