bourbon. I've had quite a bit of this compared to some other bourbons, one obvious reason being that it's my favorite. For the amback.com record, a reasonably good description of this bourbon on my part would be to say that there's plenty of that classic, spicy oak along with caramel, and a long finish composed of black tea sweetened with honey.

A.H. Hirsch Reserve 16 year old Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey. This was distilled in the old fashioned American way of using copper pot stills in 1974 at Michter's Distillery in Pennsylvania from a mash bill of 51% corn, 37% rye and 12% malt, then shipped to Kentucky in 1989 for final aging and distilling.

The final release has been made to all distributors, and there are precious few bottles left in the world. While price gouging definitely goes on, it's not unreasonable to pay $50-65 for a bottle, although samswine.com has a sale lasting another day, and is charging $32.66 plus applicable shipping and 70 cents per bottle Cook County Illinois Internet Nuisance Sales Tax.
