I probably look forward to each new bottle . . .

of THIS bourbon more than any other whiskey, bourbon or rye, that I have developed a taste for in the few years of my infancy in becoming a Whiskey Sippin' Mayuhn. Although it occupies "only" the No. 7 spot on my current Top 25, it has begun to seem to me that my anticipation, my sense of "the hunt" and yes, my palate, is never on such an edge as when I've secured a bottle of THIS bourbon, especially when I've secured it at the right price.

And I'm now paying the "right price" for this and other whiskies more so than ever before. And THAT, is just about getting to know your interest to the point where you know what it CAN and perhaps SHOULD cost, you resolve not to buy it unless it can be had at a certain price, and you know WHO to go to WHEN you want THAT. As I'm sure you've discovered about certain products that you either desire or need in life, you cannot find them all at the best price at ONE place. Good shopping means knowing WHAT you want and WHERE to get it, and as above, making sure you DON'T buy it unless it can be had at the price YOU WANT to pay for it.

And all of THAT Bloofy Blather STILL hasn't led me to telling you about my first tasting of this latest bottle of my No. 7 bourbon, not unless you have the post with my new Top 25 opened up in another window on your computer.

So, why would I get so excited about getting a new bottle of a bourbon that ISN'T necessarily my favorite? Well, perhaps it should be, and that would be a good point, BUT . . .

more to the point, it's actually fine sitting at No. 7, but "the hunt" for THIS bourbon and the anticipation of finally working my way through a bottle of it definitely "gets to me" like no other bottle. And it's not just finding it at the right price, because to my mind, the "right price" is somewhere about $35 to "walk-out" of a store or web site having paid, and just TRY finding it at that price, or even a tad lower, as I just did.

So, what is it about this bourbon that gets to me so? Well, for one thing, bottle to bottle consistency has become a standout characteristic. Despite the fact that the condition of our palate has a lot to do with how certain things taste at certain times, this bourbon has shown me that it always has an exact flavor profile, no discernible difference from bottle to bottle, and I've been buying this one for at least three years, probably longer.

Add to all of the above that this bourbon's flavor profile is instantly recognizable, smooth, no, make that extra smooth, bold flavors, not muddled and not changing, so yes, it might seem boring to some, but when the flavor profile is so good it doesn't matter!!!

Classic bourbon flavors of spicy oak, a touch of vanilla, and caramel with candy apple coating blow your mouth away with each delicious sip, from start to finish, on each sip and from start to finish of the entire tasting.

This is rich tasting, beautifully delicious bourbon, so classic in fact, that if aliens landed on earth and asked me what bourbon was, I might give them a glass full of this, because although as we all know "perfect" doesn't really exist, on earth, in this age, in my opinion, this truly is "perfect" bourbon, perfectly balanced, wonderfully smooth, the aforementioned consistency from sip to sip and bottle to bottle and at 90.4 proof not too strong to back anyone off from trying it.

And not in the stratosphere price-wise, either. I'd try to avoid paying over $40 as a 'walk-out' price here, and if it's more than that, don't buy it. I just got this bottle for a 'walk-out' price of $33.81. :D :D :D

You could pay a lot more for a lot worse, or pay a lot less and hit yourself in the head for not paying a few bucks more for something with real class and "zing" to it . . .

So WHAT IS IT ALREADY(?!?!!???), for those of you who DON'T have that other window on your computers open, . . . :p
