The hills and the hollers
I was at the B&M yesterday and we got to talking about doing a "Cigar Dinner."
We would get a host company, lets say Ashton hosts it. Then book a restaurant, Beethoven's Grill is the only one in this area considered a restaurant that has gone 21+.
So for $10-20 you get dinner, 5 sticks, and a nice place to mingle and smoke cigars.
Right now we are thinking drinks are payed for by each person, but we may be able to get a vendor on board to to cover that to.
Has anyone done anything like this before? How was it set up? Did you enjoy it?

I've heard of similar events before, Connor. Sounds like fun. I know one of our B&M
's is going to have a cigar/wine tasting event pretty soon featuring Texas wines. I don't remember the cigar vendor though.

Nice chatting with you last night!

heck, id pay $30for something like that. (especially if it was hosted by ashton) does that cost include dinner or is that just something that will be "cash menu?" (id STILL be ok with 30+ dinner)

we discussed it more this afternoon and had some better numbers.
We are looking at having 25 people max.
To rent the room its $250. (10/person)
Dinner is a "select menu" So each person would be able to get a choice of 2 soups, 3 salads, 4 entrees and 3 deserts. The menu is about 30/person.
The cigar company would provide "samples" of 3 or 4 cigars of their choice to each person and then offer deals on box and individual purchases. We discussed this with the Ashton rep and they would be interested, BUT it would be their lower end sticks. The higher end stuff does not need the advertisement, and he said most "high end" reps would say the same thing.
We are now looking at Cusano and Perdomo.
The B&M would be the host and get free advertisement.
We are think of charging $40-50 per person with all profit from the event going to a local charity.

Texas wine...ew!

Sounds like fun Conny. I've never been to an event like that but sure would enjoy trying one out.

Steve, my fellow Texan (yes you ARE Texan), I'm just gonna go out on a limb here and say that I bet Texas has more vineyards than California. As said, out on a limb. You have been away from home to long my dear friend. :D

The owner of my B&M also owns a bar/restaurant. He does cigar dinners occasionally with cigar/liquor vendors. I manage to always be working when he has these, so I haven't been to one. (Hmm...maybe he does this on purpose :ek: ) I'd have to tell Ashton to kiss off on this one. Great cigars, but their reps don't impress me much. Let us know how it turns out. Sounds like a lot of fun.

- I'd call Davidoff & ask about their tasting program!
They make a set of cigars that each stick is made of one type of tobacco.
These are the mix used to blend 1 cigar.
There were 3 or 4 sticks in the set.
(I think 4) and then a 5th stick made from a blend of all 4.
The event I went to had their master blender explaining what to look for with each stick.
Where that type of leaf would be tasted.
It was a really educational event & I learned a lot about cigars.
Add dinner & a movie & I'd go home with you!!!

Davidoff is out because right now they are trying to make the owner of the B&M carry the Winston Churchill line to keep carrying their other brands (from what he said this is a nation wide thing). He would have to purchase an unreasonable amount of boxes and his research shows there is no way he could sell them in this region.

It is looking more and more like it will be Cusano to do the dinner. They are easy to work with and they are more than willing to please.
