How do you become a tobacconist? Is there classes to take, books to read, or can I just call myself one? And if you have to do something to get this status and work at a cigar shop do you ask to get paied more? Thanks for the reply.

ive been reading the site posted above for the past few days and i came accross this page: http://www.tobacconistuniversity.org/to ... ation3.asp
he tries to describe plume or bloom and runs a muck of it:
Plume is the name given to the white fuzzy substance that clings to the Wrapper of an oily, well conditioned cigar. Plume, or Bloom as it is also called, is a positive condition representing optimal oiliness and conditioning. Plume can be wiped off by hand, or gently brushed off using a very delicate brush.
and if you click on the word plume on that page it takes you to this page : http://www.tobacconistuniversity.org/glossary.asp#159 where he says
Also known as Bloom, this is a naturally occuring by-product of cigar aging. As the cigar exudes oils a white powder-like substance (Plume) will develop on the outside of the Wrapper. The Plume can be gently wiped off with no negative consequences.
Im not quite sure if i should contact him or not. And if i was how should i go about it without being dissrespectful? the rest of the site seems to be spot on. it seems that i could show this: http://www.vitolas.net/displayimage.php ... at=0&pos=8

iduno... it just seems strange that they are passing out "tobaccanist certification" with a clear misrepresentation on one of their pages.
i was thinking about becomming a tobaccanist (just for fun, i mean i dont have to pay for the CCT (consumer certified tobacanist) (i think)) but after i saw this im thinkin i shouldnt. eh.. whatever

Wait...they're not? Well, at least they still have the marijuana in them.

That's too funny, just the other day i was at my girlfriend's work and one of the hairstylists there SWEARS that the reason Cuban cigars are so good and illegal is because they have marijuana in them...although she's never had one before.....and then one of my friends and i were smoking a cigar with the other night (he's an occasional smoker, when i supply, lol) and he was like "cubans have marijuana in them, right?"...i said "No" (with a laugh)...then he proceeded to ask me why cubans were legal...so i went into detail explaining that an embargo covers everything coming out of that country...man, there are some ignorant people out there, and they are alllll worth a good laugh!!
