Atlantic City casinos facing smoking ban...

That's effin' grand. I can gamble away my rent money and become homeless, but I can't smoke while doing it. These things make me so mad. Its not even that I can't smoke as I routinely go much longer than the few hours I might spend at the casino, but rather that somebody else thinks they know what is good for me.

I know! This is the same reason I don't get smoking bans in bars.

I have a casino near me and it has both a smoking and a non smoking sections. Even though to get to the non smoking section you have to walk through the smoking section and I am sure people complain about that but I have been in there when it is totaly packed and people smoking up a storm and its not bad. My contacts don't dry out and I am able to keep playing. I have been to some bars that need some work on air movement or something becasue my contacts dry out in no time and it sucks to stay and smoke and drink but its 1 of the last places to smoke besides the house. I was up in Canada a few months ago, almost a year by now and I had my first legal Q*ban and the lady asked if I was going to smoke it in the casino and I said yes. She told me in a few months they were going to have a smoking ban on the casino. tobad.

Smoking ban in Canadian casinos? In a nation full of smokers, that's bound to go over really well with Frere Jacques. Smoking is to Canadians as garlic is to my life.

When are people going to learn that prohibition never works. If these people had their way, tobacco would be completely illegal (but you could smoke pot for medicinal purposes). Doing that would create a black market, and a black market brings crime. We as a nation should have learned our lessen after we had to repeal the prohibition of alcohol in the thirties, but we just keep making the same mistakes over and over again.

I could keep going and going, but I won't. This kind of thing just makes me so upset.

I don't understand why they can't have smoking sections and Non-smoking sections?

Let the smokers work in the smoking areas!

There should be a standard for the air cleaning system -
to me that makes sense!

it was bound to happen in NJ, the whole thing was started by the casino workers, and then their owners got the casinos exemptions. It was only a matter of time before the casino's would lose their exemption. I hate the ban too, but it was coming.

All smoking is now banned in Windsor, Canada Casinos, and Bars. I believe the law extends to (but not 100% positive), to any building or structure, in Windsor. This includes (2) outside patio umbrellas (if they are touching each other), which would also constitute a structure :throwrock: , (according to a Canadian friend who lives there).

Yeah I was at a casino in Windsor when she told me that. This morning I read an article in my local paper talking about banning smoking in all public places except bars and privite clubs. That sounds ok compared to banning smoking everywhere.
