I've tried ceramic kitchen knives before and they're incredible, so when I saw a ceramic blade cutter like this one the other day I had to pick it up.
The casing seems cheap (especially for the price most places are asking, I got it for $10), but it holds together well. Though I can't really explain its mammalian form. The blade is, like most ceramic blades, ridiculously sharp. It cut through a cigar like it was made of cheese (the cigar, not the blade). But it did face the issue most single blade cutters will. If you cut too slow, its prone to squashing the last bit as much as cutting it.
One way I like to cut is to just start a cut, and then rotate the cigar so it slices all the way around and just pops the cap off. The blades sharpness excelled there.
All in all, its a fun addition to the collection, if you can find it cheap, but I don't think it'll replace anyone's Xicar any time soon.
