  • As many may know, XR is from the small leavings at the Waterloo Distillery. The bottles are numbered. Which brings me to this, is there any info on bottled date based on those numbers?

This is the best I could come up with.

"In 2006, Crown Royal XR (extra rare) was introduced to the Canadian market (initially, only in Ontario, Alberta). This limited-release special blend of Crown Royal is sold in numbered bottles, and is made from the last batch of whiskey distilled at the Waterloo distillery. After mothballing in 1992, the Waterloo Distillery burned down in 1993, with only a small and finite amount of whisky being left behind."

  • Thanks, Bloof. That's about what I'd found before I asked. At $140 a fifth and up, I think I'll price Booker's.

The cheapest you're going to find Booker's for, other than a "lucky find" at a local liquor store, is for $41.99 plus shipping at . . .

Sorry, but they recently had a sale for $40.01+, but the price is back up to the above figure now. I was fortunate enough to get my current bottle during the sale.
