I've tried four varieties, the best of which was Don Lino Africa Gordito robusto, which is something like a nub size and has a bit of flavor. The other three were just ho-hum. Anyone have a recommendation for any good ones ?

I've never had one, Tony. I heard the Africa was good. It is appealing to me because it is Cameroon wrapped.

According to CI's description of the Africa, it has a Habano wrapper but the filler or binder is partially composed of Cameroon tobacco.
I also like the feel of a Cameroon wrapper.

I have purchased the Africas a couple of times in the past, and did enjoy them when I did. Not enough to make them a regular, but they are smokeable.

That's about the way I feel about them too. I would buy more if the price was low enough, but I would take Nub CT over them any day. I had a 1989 box pressed torpedo a few days ago and it didn't do anything for me, nor have they in the past.
