is it true that if you lick the wrapper all the way around it will burn more even?

Ask BP - I did that to all of the cigars I sent him last time.

Kevin - THAT's what made those sticks so tasty!

If you want an even burn, light the stick's foot completely before you start to draw on it. Takes awhile, but really helps control those burn issues.

And....if I may add my .015 cents, you need to have a torch of some kind to do that. Cheap B*c lighters just don't do it. Torches are not hard to come by, mine is a 15 dollar Nibo I picked up at an outfitter store.

Didn't Clinton try this technique? Except he used a different approach.

I saw a guy at the smoke shop put the entire thing in his mouth (no joke.) I didn't want to ask what he was doing.

Was it a churchill?

Well, we gotta watch what we post else this thread will be headed in the wrong direction.

It was. I'm not kidding. He put his saliva all over the wrapper. That was the first time I saw him there so, I wasn't comfortable asking him any questions. I'm a big chicken when it comes to talking to strangers.

I'll wet the cap before I use a punch cutter (I don't want the cigar to crack.) I saw a CA poll where it asked how many people wet the cap first. It was a high percentage (can't remember exactly what it was.)

Okay, I've been watching this for a while, so I'll jump in here. And I'll try to do it without getting pornographic, and I definitely won't be posting links to any web sites that I haven't visited in a year, and don't know what they're about these days, as opposed to the last time I visited them. :sm_angel: :cryinlaugh:

We have discussed before how to smoke a cigar that has a crack in the wrapper or is actually coming unwraveled. My own recommendation whenever this type of thread came up, was indeed to make your lips and whole mouth very wet, and either lick the flawed area, or put the entire cigar in your mouth, and give it a really wet once over. It will hold together and keep a cigar that might have to be tossed otherwise, from being wasted. Why anyone would do it to a cigar that didn't have a flaw, crack, or was unwraveling, I'm not sure, but perhaps for some folks, they do indeed feel it burns better. :dunno:

Bloof, you can PM me those links. For research, of course. :sm_angel:

I didn't find out about it until about 32 hours later, because I posted them and left. I also almost "left" in more ways than one. :cryinlaugh: :cryinlaugh: Not one of my brighter moments. If you're going to moderate an internet forum, and post links to offer examples, it MIGHT be a good idea to check the web sites if you haven't visited them in at least a year. Never know what they might have morphed into. :eek:mg: :flush:

Suffice it to say, if you remember the name of the chef, you can just Google it yourself. :sm_angel:
