just picked up the romeo y julieta 125th anniversary from the local shop... anyone know anything about it? i know one thing and its the price (high for what i think romeo y julieta are usually worth). It is probably going to sit in the humi until something like a bachelor party but i want to know any info behind it for the special occasion that i bust it out for.

How much did you pay and in what state. They were released in 2000. Not very limited quantities but I have not seen any for a while so I guess the supply has dried up. Hence why it probably cost more.

$12.50 in south carolina, they have half a box left

Bildo,

IMO the 125th Aniversario smokes are sensational. The Romeo y Julieta's (non-Cuban) I have are Churchills (7.25 x 50) made with a dark Cameroon wrapper, Dominican filler and an Ecuadorian binder. I think they have a very rich, complex flavor. I have a box of these and it is one of a few non-Cubans that I keep and recommend to others.

You can also get Romeo y Julieta Aniversario Double Coronas La Romana, with Dominican Filler; Binder is Connecticut and wrapper from Ecuador. These cost about $9.50 U.S. each. Delicioso IMO.

In my part of the world, they can be purchased in the British Virgin Islands, Dutch Antilles, Curacao and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands and Canary Islands. I've seen them advertised on the net, so they don't appear to be real hard to find.

The Cubans can be bought everywhere but the U.S., and its territories but cost way more. The Cuban 125th Aniversario Churchills (47 x 6.9) are some of the best sticks I've ever burned. They have a perfect draw, beautiful clouds of smoke, with flavors that run from husky leather, to dark chocolate and finally turning woody.
