To all who appreciate Single Malt Scottish Whisky, do yourself a favor and check out Murray McDavid. Their website is http://www.murray-mcdavid.com
Their bottling method is unique to the industry.
Most Maryland liquor stores- which are privately owned- do not carry this product.Only the better stores have it, but it is available.
Any questions- please ask.
In most cases you will be drinking your favorite brand but better.
If Macallan 18 is your favorite, I predict you will find that Murray McDavid's Macallan ( similar age) is not only better but a few dollars per bottle cheaper. Price is not the issue. Its the taste.
The key is cask botteling by Murray Mcdavid vs blending by Macallan.
Yes, there is blending in Single Malts. The Scottish standards allow blending. Macallan when botteling their 18 year old product is allowed to add older Macallan to achieve the desired taste.Every Scottish does it as a standard pratice. They cannot blend a younger year.
Murray McDavid does not blend. As it comes from the cask it is botteld. Each bottle from that cask in numbered on the bottle. Each cask is slightly different in taste. Like cigars- there is a level of excitement as one opens a new bottle.
