I thought it would be fun to document my cigar smoking so this is what I'm doing. I hope you all enjoy it.

I was gifted a couple of these for my birthday by a good buddy. I don't usually smoke tubos but hey, it's a free cigar. Who's going to say no?
I've never had the pleasure of smoking a Hoyo before so this was a little treat before my university exams beat the hell out of me. I didn't know what to expect.

Out of the tube it measured around 5 inches and a 40 ring gague. A little cigar. The wrapper seem to be a little veiny although it did have a silky touch to it.

This cigar lit up pretty well. Quite a bit of smoke for a cigar of this size I think. Smoke was a nice white that was creamy.

It held it's ash decently although not great. You can see in the picture it started to lean. Nice flavours that resembled woody and floral kinds of taste.

About half way down you could also sense a hint of an almond taste to it. Pretty nice.

Unfortunately here the burn started to get uneven but I was able to fix it.

Here it has evened out nicely. Still nice tastes but the cigar was starting to get a little hot at this point.

This is as long as the ash could hold.

Right to the nub.
Conclusion: All in all this was your above average cigar. Medium bodied and I'd probably prefer this to the H. Upmanns. A little minor flaws but nothing substantial. Draw was pretty good. Flavour was a little one dimensional but there were some hints of complexity. The only factor that might stop me from buying these in the future? Price. I asked the tobacconist how much these things would cost. They are $12.99 (all prices Canadian dollars-yes the Canadian government taxes cigars and cigarettes to hell) a piece. At that price I could grab a Romeo y Julieta of the same size for cheaper. Although it's a pretthy good smoke there are better out there for cheaper. Perhaps this is something I'll smoke when I want a change of pace.
