new user/need info and help

There is quite a wealth of info on that stuff here. Just peruse some back pages, and you'll see it.

Above all, purchase a larger humidor than what you think he'll need. Go for one with digital hygrometer.

Yes, welcome and Colonel beat me to it. I will say this though, your best bet would be to buy the humidor and cigars separately. Get at least a 75 count humidor and a digital hygrometer is a must. Another good idea is the Cigar of the Month club. Maybe you could get him subscribed to that and a few of the sampler packs from Cigar.com. Again though, his preferences would help. Another must is a torch lighter and a double guilletine cutter. A company called Xikar makes the best on the market in my opinion.
