Chicago - but dreaming of Havana
At least I think they were Work of Arts. I had three sitting in the drawer. Bigger than the Short Story, which I really like.

Anyway, the first one was a maduro and it was nice but there wasn't much flavor, kind of flat. Great draw. It did have a bit of strength towards the end, but most cigars build a bit. I was kind of shocked that it wasn't more flavorfull. It's probably about 6 years old or so.

I also had two of the same size (I think) that had the barber pole wrapper. I thought they were a bit more flavorfull, but still not what I expected. I do like all of the Hemmingway cigars, and find them all very flavorfull. I wonder if the aging had something to do with the lack of taste. I was told by Carlito that his cigars, Opus X, were meant to be smoked right away and not aged, I wonder if these are in the same ballpark.

In my experience, most Cameroon wrapped Fuentes lose flavor as they age. The barber pole, AKA Between the Lines that I've smoked seemed virtually tasteless so the remaining ones I have will be kept as collectibles.

On the other hand, their Maduros and Sungrowns age nicely.
Maybe 6 years is just too long for a WOAM...I'll find out in 3 more years 8)

I remember back on that other web site, long ago, and far away, there were conversations between me and others who had noticed that around 2000, the Hemingways seemed to be all tasting very flat. After buying a ten pack of Classics last year, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they, and subsequent ten packs that I've bought, all tasted great. I put up a post here, entitled something like the Hemingways are back. Having said that, I think that even with Hemingways tasting bold and full flavored again, that any Hemingway aged for six years, will most likely have long since lost its flavor. They're not that type of cigar. Even when they're good, or were good back in the mid-90's, they need to be smoked within a year to a year and a half.

I'm a fan of the work of arts. I have a couple in my humi right now. They don't last too long in there. I usually smoke them within a couple of weeks after buying them. They're very flavorful to me. I couldn't possibly wait longer than a couple of months to smoke.

I tend to stick to the Short Story's. I have had some great smokes with these and haven't been interested in trying any of the other products.

is the WOA a seasonal or is it available all the time?

my favorite hemingway is the best seller.
