i was wondering, has anyone ever tried the private stock by Davidoff? I see them on here when i sign on and i know they are medium filler, but i was curious if they are worth the buy for a good everday smoke.
They are just okay. I would go with the cigar.com cuban, purple, or cameroon label instead. They are also medium filler and also rolled at the davidoff factory but I find they are a lot better. Capt, will back me up on that. He is married to the cameroon label.
I haven't tried the c.com brands yet, though I plan on ordering a sampler or two with my next order.
As for everyday smokes, so far I like Flor de Oliva. I find them even with or better than a lot of smokes costing 2-4 times as much. They're hand made, long filler, and around $2/stick. I'm particularly fond of the maduro (I'm a big maduro fan), and I've very much enjoyed the 10th Anniversary sticks as well. I haven't had a gold yet (local liquor store has a walk in humifor, but they've been out of the gold for weeks), but I'll be giving one a try when they get them in stock or I place another c.com order.
I'm still trying to decide if I screwed up by not jumping on that Puros Indios offer on Friday. I picked one up locally & smoked it after work on Friday but I was on the fence as to whether or not they passed my "Flor de Oliva Test", and didn't decide before the offer expired. Basically I won't buy boxes/bundles unless I like them better than Flor de Olivas or they're about even and cheaper.

This is one GREAT cigar. I have smoked more of these on a consistant basis than any other cigar. The torpedo not only smokes great, but the construction and overall asthetics of this cigar will impress anyone.
You can find tons of better cigars (and cheaper) than the Private Stocks. I smoked them a while back, and thought I was getting a deal.
You can find hand made bundles that smoke better than some very pricey smokes. I have really only had the Flor De Oliva and my local shops "house bundle" and they are both better than the Private Stocks.

The C.com sticks are really really nice sticks for the price. I LOVE their Cuban and Red Labels, and the Cameroons are nice as well.

Wow, guess I'm missing out on Flor de Olivas. I've never had one.. guess I might have to give them a try.
