How much of a cigar do you smoke?

Depends on if i like it or not if it sucks i will let it go immeaditly if its excellent i will smoke it to the nub

If the cigar is worth your time; that's when those hard-earned callouses on your fingertips really pay off!

Right down to where I cant hold on to it anymore.

It all depends on the cigar...when the taste goes, so does the cigar...For me though, it is a rare cigar that holds my interest past the 3/4 point, but there have been a few.

I'm a 2/3's guy. Unless it is awsome, I usually loose the enjoyment at the 2/3's point. I have smoked a few to the nub and wished I had bought the churchill instead of the robusto on those few.

That's a great question. IMHO it really does depend on the cigar. I am a Maduro guy and I smoke it until the smoke gets hot. That differs with the cigar and with how your cigars are stored and how you draw. IMHO if you keep cigars at a bit higher RH you can smoke them down a bit further. Now, if you smoke that darn thing all the way down to the nub because it cost so darn much, you should look for another hobby. Most cigars improve as you smoke them. I have smoked Maduros to "Infinity and Beyond!!" Some lighter mild/medium I have not made it past the band. Oh, there is another good one! You can tell your wife that "I only smoke it to the band ya know" Hey! that band moves! :lol: So anyway, I think it's, as with most things that are personal, you make your own call. 8)

I agree it has alot to do with the cigar itsself. I've smoked sticks that didn't really open up until half way down with the last 2 inches being the best. Just smoke it until you don't enjoy it anymore....or until you can't take the burning sensation in your fingers :lol:

In my short time in the life ive only found a couple that ill smoke till i can feel the heat but most of the time ill smoke down to about 2 inches.

I saved my roach clip from days gone by just for this reason. Some cigars I just cant put down, some I cant get rid of fast enough.

Just kidding about the roach clip, had to get rid of it, but I did use two keys to hold a Cohiba Lancero once.

Depends on the cigar.

If it's a good/excellent stick, I'll smoke it to the nub.
A so-so stick that I'd never smoke again, just under the band area.
A bad stick, I'll go 1/2 way just in case the stick changes personality.
A horrible stick (ie "T"-word), no more than 1 inch of burn.

3/4 but, if it's really good. . . Roach clip!

I will smoke mine al the way down til it burns my fingers. Only time I wont is when it is horrible. All depends on personal preference and taste.

Well I kept mine , I use it all the time, & I have a small hand carved pipe that I smoke what is left in the roach clip , I GET IT ALLL BABY !

as a rule, i like to nub them.
