Help i think i might have beetles.

I Just sat down to have a smoke and relax for the rest of the night.
I was sitting there admiring the Beauty of this cigar and basking in the flavor when i noticed 4 little holes)lick pin holes) in the wrapper right about were the label woudl have been if i hadn't of slipped it off.

I wish my camera was working so i could post a pic but its not.
anyways i just went through my humi and found 1 other with the same pin prick like holes only 2 though and 1 more possible one.
i have then set aside for the moment

My question is how big are the hole that they make and are there any really good pics of a cigar w/ minor beetle damage. i did a search in yahoo and on here and didn't find much for pics.

and one more question is
by leaving them in the celo does that protect them from other beetles getting to them cause i didn't check the ones int he celo yet.

It's always been my understanding that the damage is caused by beetles eating their way out of a cigar and not the other way around...but luckily I'm not much of an expert on the matter so I wouldn't rule out other scenarios.

Are you sure you didn't just peel away some flecks of the wrapper with the lable? Sometimes the vegetable glue isn't only on the wrapper.

not really sure, definitly a possibilty,
The more i read about them the more i think it was not but anyways i tossed the cigar sadly and set 2 other aside that i will watch over the next week.

I also check the min/max of my hygrometer and notice that the temp has been up to 81deg. that kinda scares me

anyways i will keep a good watch on my cigars and plan to price a winecooler tommorrow to convert into a fridgeador

at least its good excuse to buy more cigars to fill teh fridgedor

81 degrees!? Definitely invest in a fridgidor. In the meantime I'd find the coldest, darkest place you can for you humidor.

Hoping for the best outcome, railed. Keep us updated with your situation.

The holes they cause are bigger than a pin hole - more like a hole from a pencil lead (if that makes sense)

Cello will not protect a cigar - they eat right through it!

I'd clean out the humidor make sure there are no little bastards
in the humidor bottom
check every cigar if you find any more signs of them - look into freezing you collection.

PM me if I cam be of more help!
