I've had my beads for about 6 months now, and I thought I'd pass on some things I've learned Beads are great. It has taken awhile to determine the correct amount of beads needed in each of my humidors. I tried a bunch of different containers and 1,2, or 3 containers per humidors. What I find works for me is, I bought the empty heartfelt tubes 1/2 oz size (4"long x 52ring) fill them 2/3 full
and these are the ones that I refill with water. I also take apart the round credo that come with the humidor, empty it, then fill it with beads. I don't add water to these. The extra beads helps compensate for the room temp/humidity, and in case I over fill the tubes with water. This works great for my 50ct desk top humidors.
For my 150ct, I have a 2"x3"x2"h glass loaf dish filled 3/4 of the way with beads that sits in the bottom of the humi. I have one of the 1/2 oz tubes filled 2/3 with beads that I keep in the top tray. If its very dry in the house(winter time) I do add a little water to the tube. Otherwise, I use this tube, like I use the credo in the 50ct humidors.
I find this gives me stable humidity, that I can ajust to the rh % that I want in each humidor. I keep my ISOM humidor at 60 to 62%, my 150ct and other 50ct humidor at 64 to 66%.
Hope this info helps. I'm really glad I took everyones advice and switched to the beads

I'm sure the litter works great. I just can't put something that my cats can take a dump on, near my cigars. I'm funny like that

Me either :?

I'll pay a few bucks more for beads.

I do have to say it was very intersting to read all the posts about the testing process for the litter, but as I say...to each thier own!!

David's (the owner) a great guy. He post on another forum I visit sometimes and they sing his praises all the time. I believe he's the only supplier now that Climmax is out of business. He just developed a humidisheet that is a fabric-like sheet that you can just lay in your humidor that looks pretty cool.

Just ordered some beads from heartfelt. Can't wait to see how they work in my 2 humis.
