Cigar odor offenders

I'm looking for a bit of input on which brands of cigars smell particularly unpleasant to people who don't smoke cigars. When I'm at home, at the cigar shop, or outside I don't worry about it, but there are a few cigar friendly bars around here and I'd like to avoid major olfactory offenders. The problem is I have no idea what they are, as almost all my cigar smoke experience involves me smoking them. I do most of my smoking elsewhere, so I don't see much point in smoking something in a bar that's going to really annoy people. If it smells nasty but tastes great I'll just smoke it at the local shop or at home with a bit of whiskey.
I know a substantial number of you have a spouse. frends, etc. who don't smoke cigars, so I'm seeking your advice. What sticks should I or should I not take to the bar? I'm mostly interested in what to avoid, but I wouldn't mind a little advice on good smelling sticks... particularly ones the ladies like. :D

I would suggest just smoking what you like. Although I have had many non smokers tell me that my cigars release a pleasant odor when I smoke them, it is my experience that only cigar smokers truly enjoy the scent of a good cigar. Most other people seem to prefer sweetened or otherwise flavor infused cigars, not unadulterated quality tobacco. Of course, if those are your preference, then you should be able to smoke with little worry of offending others (assuming the location allows smoking to begin with).

That being said, if it smelled yucky to even you, then it most likely tastes yucky as well, and you'd not be smoking it at all.

I usually smoke by myself so I don't know of many. I have received complaints about a torano 1916 and a CAO Cameroon. Maybe its the cameroon, I have no idea.

Stronger more full bodied cigars are the ones that people are goingto find a tad unpleasant

My non-smoking golfing buddies often comment on how they enjoy the smell of my cigars. Last year I lit a cigar that came from the cigar.com club and it tasted awful. I smoked it for one hole and on the next teebox doused it with water and threw it in the garbage and told my buddies that it was the worst cigar I had ever smoked. They told me that they had all notice how bad it smelled. I forgot to write the name down and now cannot remember. It tasted and smelled like cheap pipe tobacco.

I agree with Barcochris on the full body cigars that I have had comments on how people disliked the smell. But I have had comments on the smell of a cheap cigar giving of a bad smell also.

My experience has been that any decent cigar smells good. I was in a pub a year or two ago and a buddy and I got complimented from a nearby diner on our smokes.

I did light up a KubaKuba one time with really good results. :-0
